I have put about 250 miles on my new Blast and I have loved every minute of it . My only issue has been down-shifting into first gear . It tends to grind a bit and seems to take a bit more effort to get the bike into first from second . I was wondering if this is normal and if this will get better after I have a few more miles on the bike ? |

Liveyman, are you moving at more than say, 5-7mph when shifting down? I usually almost come to a stop before shifting back into first. This is my 5th bike, none of them liked being shifted into first from a certain speed. There are posts you can search on the board regarding shifting. More folks complain about clunking it into first when first starting. There was advice to pull in the clutch and WAIT at least 5 seconds, then shift. It works for me! Have fun learning about your Blast- I've had mine for almost 3 years and learn new stuff all the time! |

Sounds like typical first gear clunk, nothing unusual for a harley. It should get somewhat better as you get more miles on the bike, but it will always be there, to a degree. |

Blip the throttle a little too if you're still moving. |
