I am not man enough for a magnum44... but it answers my q's on a Buell Supermono racer. Now how do you stuff that bad boy into a Spenco frame?? Hmmm, I've seen twins put into Kawa frames, but I have a feeling it would take a bit of welding to make that one happen.. Darnit, my poor Blast is going to be outragous before this is over. -=]DS[=- |

actually there is a Salvage Blast on Ebay though action has been hot on it the price is still below 1K. It would be a very good motor on which to build a Supermono |

OK, I've really got to find out some stuff... Aside from stroke, what differences are there between the Blast crank & rod and the Sportster or 1200 Buell Crank & rod? Is the rod the "knife" or "fork" style or niether? Same length? Same big end size? Is the gap between the crank halves different? How about the shafts? I wish I'd somehow been able to hang on to just one of the returned Blast motors that were replaced under warranty on my first bike. -Saro |

Darn Tony, I wish I could have gotten that one instead of my new one... I'd feel a lot better about chopping it up. Price went over 1100$, so i guess I just have to wait again sometime. If only the money in my wallet could afford the thoughts in my head.... (cool new icon smileys BTW..) -=]DS[=- |

I just became one of the fraternety that has developed the dreaded rocker box leak. Ordered the parts today along with another set for Dad. Made sure that they are the updated metellic ones so that I don't have to do this again soon. Will do this myself (this is for Saro )All things are still good. I still love my beloved single. Ray |

Rocker box gasket and broken-off-in-the-head bolt fixed by dealer. Fatal mistake: not checking the dealer's work. Now, my Blast! is as loud as those other Harleys. Meineke said they'd weld the pipe for $15. It only took 600 miles for the muffler bracket to work its way loose, which resulted in the muffler vibrating out of sync with the engine. You can guess the rest. The dealer said they'd fix it, but its more trouble to drive to the dealer than it is to pay the $15. |

Joey: I'd strongly suggest you take it to the dealer. That way they learn something, and you are covered on any future related problems. What bolt was broken off in the head? If it was an exhaust header mounting stud, that may be indicative of the root cause of your exhaust failure. Sounds like you may want to discern what caused that stud to fail to avoid any future exhaust failure problems. |

Okay, here is an easy one (I think) - I just got my new decals (M2) to place on the Blast. So... what is the easiest way to peel off the blast stics without destroying the bodywork or melting the plastic? any advice appreciated chris |

Well I couldn't stand it I spent 20 minutes on my wifes 250Ninja and I'm disgusted with the Buell seat I Ordered a Corbin from ASB 5 minutes ago. I was planing on redoing the rearend...I may still at some point but I have 8 more months to ride here in Hawaii and my A$$ is tired of the stock seat. |

Mine literally just peeled right off... those that were stubborn just left some of the "stickey" adhesive which cleaned up fine with some alcohol.... Post a pic when your done, I'd like to see how they look! -=]DS[=- |

I peeled mine off before i got home from the dealer the first day. Don't use alcohol it clouds the plastic a bit. Try the orange "goo off" |

Try using a hairdryer - lightly fan the area as you peel - old graphic design and display trick my wife showed me and it worked! Keep Blasting! |

Hey everyone I wanted to go for a ride today here in the west but it is snowing like crazy... Man I hate these snowy days in spring. I was also wondering does anyone have a V and H exhaust for sale? (new or used for a good deal) |

A while back I remember some posting of a programmable ignition module that would fit the Blast. I was in the HD dealer yesterday and saw it with my very own eyes. It is on Harleys web site described as Screamin' Eagle® Adjustable Ignition System Fits '98-later XL models (except XL 1200 Sport). But it also says on the package will also fit 2000-up Buell Blast. Part#32942-02 |

This has me wondering. Will the ignition allow the continued use of the auto-enrichner? This could solve some problems a lot easier (though maybe not cheaper) than I had thought. |

Thanks for the ideas - I'll let you know how it goes once the decals are peeled and the new ones are laid on. Blake - sorry about the posting here, but i hardly ever check any other board except the P3 topics!! when i post the pics, i'll place them there! Thanks again chris |

Thanks Pmonkey. It will make a good addition to the vault. XGecko: What does the ignition have to do with the auto enrichener? |

Blake in answer to your question the Auto Enrichner gets it power/control feed from the Ignition Module. Sorry it took so long to answer but I left my manual at work and I wanted to check it before I said anything |

The bolt that broke off in my head was one of the two front mount bolts on the head. The reason the exhaust broke was because the bolts on the muffler were not tightened down properly. I don't see going without my Blast! for a week just to show a dealer what he screwed up. I'm now in the "I'll fix it myself" mode. I got the maintenance manual, and I'm ready to wrench! It does make a nice sound, but I don't think it's a good thing to leave a pipe open like that. |

I hear what you are saying, and I have followed the same path myself in the case of a rockerbox gasket leak. The only downside is that the oblivious dealerships go on thinking they have zero problems and all is perfect in their service activity. It might be worthwhile to at least let them know for informations sake what happened to your exhaust. Hopefully they will take it to heart and make note that that they need to improve their attention to detail. Maybe you could send them a picture or two of the broken exhaust. You might just save a fellow Blaster from the same fate. Or not. In any case, good luck with your repair. Oh, and re the open pipe thing... don't tell all the Harley riders that. |

"The only downside is that the oblivious dealerships go on thinking they have zero problems and all is perfect in their service activity." I followed that train of thought for almost exactly 6 months. The result? A notquitelemonlawbuyback and a strained (to put it lightly) relationship between a dealer and a customer. I don't really know where the line should be drawn. My experiences were so bad that I wouldn't even accept a free 1000 mile service. I didn't ask for anything in its place. I JUST TURNED IT DOWN. If I can't trust someone to do a simple drain and fill, how can I trust them to do something more artful or technical? Aside from that, I believe that Buells are regarded as an annoyance at most dealerships. Blasts - well, I think Blastards are regarded as wimpy, nondeserving annoyances. I know, broked record... BUT, my current Blast is MUCH happier with impatient, absent minded ME doing EVERYTHING. -Saro |

Saro- I couldn't agree more. On my last bike the 97 S-1. They had to do a total engine drop and slit the cases to fix a gasket and rebuild. (4000 miles) THey also would not do the work on the bike until my warranty was up. Said that they were to busy and this would work best. So I went along with them. They are suppost to be the smart ones right? Well, I pick up the bike in Feb. (to cold to ride) I didn't ride it for 4 months. THan 600 miles later the stator bolts broke loss and it exploded. Destroying the primary case and other things. When I took it back and told them what had happen they (dealer) told me that since it was over 90 days it was not their problem. No one told me about the 90 day warranty. I bitch until I was blue in the face. Nothing! Well I had to fix the bike myself and what do you know. The great and mighty HOG dealer over tighten the bolts and that is why they broke. I was told the best service guy worked on the bike, Buell professional trained. Trained my ass. This guy ran all the cables in the wrong place. If that was they best they had. That is pretty piss poor. And don't even get me started on all the other problems the dealer had to fix and messed up it up more than when I took it in. The dealers are going to kill Buell with all their great HOG service. We Buellers are not going to put with it. I finally had enough with all the piss poor service. Gave up on the S-1 traded it for TL-1000s. (Note I tried to trade it in on a X-1 but the dealer wouldn't even take it in on a trade and this is a very very big dealer.) I also have a blast right now. So far this bike is working ok. |

Well I'm stoked, I ordered a Corbin Seat from ASB on Sunday and today when I get home what is sitting on my porch but that seat. This is a new record for me, living in Hawaii I never expect packages with any kind of speed. I was so happy that I opened the box, took off the old seat and spent an hour cutting the mounting bolt out of the old seat. FYI if you haven't removed your seat bolt oil it...a lot; mine was so rusted in place that I litterally had to cut it out and take the insert off with a pair of vise grips. Anyway once I had the bolt installed it took a bit of adjusting to get the right height but it now locks just fine. The seat...Corbin is amazing. This seat is so comfortable that I'm sure my monthly milage is going to climb. What surprise me was hom much it put me in the bike instead of on it. It works well with my rearsets and leaves a better pocket for my almost completed intake. I am leaning forward a bit more (I had to adjust the mirrors on my helmet so I wasn't looking at the sky) which will take some getting used to. But I have tommorrow off so I can ride a bit (I think it's time to run KoleKole Pass). Anyone with Blast Butt Syndrome needs to get a Corbin seat. Even after an hour in traffic with a good case I was able to take off for an hour to "test" the new seat. It is soooooo comfortable. Again thanks ASB you truely do saticfy your customers |

drop them a line and pester them they promised a release of that intake two months ago. My intake is a Frankenstein like thing copied from one of the other Blastards on this site. Since mine isn't as nice looking as his i won't name him but if you wan't to know how to fabricate one check the Blast archives shortly after 9/11 |

of course banke is making rearsets for the Blast...I've already bought a set...honestly though I kinda like the look of mine better. Too much metal on the Banke. It is good to see that others are making stuff for the Blast though. The more stuff the less likely that someone will have their Blast end up looking like mine |
