Pretty much a vindictive act - you'll notice membership is now by invatation only and hidden,and all posts are moderated - lol - Ralph's pretty pissed and so am I - this person is acting childish because Ralph rubbed them the wrong way - stand in line I say - and grow up - sigh - so the saga/soap continues... Hi guys, Jim told me where to find you all now that we cannot access the yahoo accts. There is one Ralph made called Lost in Pennsy that I talked to travel fairy Patti on yesterday and today but she is right as you all are - Ralph is not back in control yet. But I have managed to not get kicked out yet. Its all just a sorrowful affair and I sure hope the hacker gets his just due. In the end, everyone has his day. | ||

Welcome Cindy to this humble - lol - forum - enjoy! Yeah - its a pretty sad state of affairs, but its not over yet - I'm keeping an eye on stuff from one of my other id's and so is Ralph - we figure its only a matter of time before an ISP trace is done and the hacker found and legal proceedings begun - last I checked Identity theft was still a crime in this country and a federal one when done on the internet - lol - we'll see how this saga plays out. Well - the hacker wiped out all those links I and Ralph built up there - there are copies and more at the link section in the TKV that I've built - still that origional list was a lot of work - probably at this rate there will be nothing left by the time Ralph gets his groups back - if he can - sigh - Hackers suck! jardine=145$ BUB=185$ which one would be the better of the two? im not worried about the money diff. but i like really loud bikes. i just hope that by going loud it wont sacrifice the quality of the sound. I know bubs are loud and good from what i have read on here, i just hadnt heard about jardine. are they loud? | ||

I checked the group this morning as I am still able to. I must not have said anything out of line yet, but your right most of the pics and the links are gone. But, there are members posting questions and expecting answers they are not going to get. I even received an email from someone that might have been part of the original group but it was not a name I recognized. I did no respond to it. Statblast--- anyone familiar with this ID? its just a shame. Ralph must be fit to be tied. They got Chanda too... | ||

Hey Cindy, welcome to Badweb. Yea I bet Ralph is fit to be tied. Actually I read one of his posts yesterday, so I know he is.  I have no idea if Yahoo will do anything or not. I doubt the can put many resources into fixing problems with free groups. But I hope they do. Any news on that front? | ||

Just Chanda's post to the old group saying it made the news. Apparently the hackers gained access thru IM somehow. We were not the only ones compromised. What are your thoughts on the hackers getting to the rest of us by association with the group... they would still need passwords to get to accounts right?? I've been considering whether or not to drop out of that group, I'd like to hang around to see progress/check out its status but not if its inherently risky?? On another subject. I got my tailbag installed and it looks and works great. The drawback is its harder to get on and off the bike with it there, something I had not considered before. | ||

Yeah - I'm Statblast - and a few others - lol - just watching how they'll play this out - will they get bored and delete everything or pack up and leave - leaving the group in limbo to die - the saga continues - unless Ralph can regain controll - the puppies a gonner for sure! GT - JBOTDS! EZ | ||

Cindy, here is how the hacker thing works. It's pretty simple, but its also simple to avoid. You get an IM on yahoo from someone on your friend list that says they have some pictures they want you to look at. You click on the link and it brings up a browser, but it takes you to what appears to be a yahoo login page asking you for your password. The thing is it's not really a yahoo login page, its a trap. If you type your password in there, someone else has it. But the good news is that if you don't then you have nothing to worry about, so you don't need to unsubscribe. BTW, do you have an email for ralph that works? I just had an idea. | ||

That "emergency backup" group "lost-in-pennsy" has been deleted completely. I found it when I searched Yahoo groups, but when I clicked the link, it said it no longer exists. (edit) now I see EZ has started a Yahoo group too. And there's another group called Buellss-Blast.  (Message edited by naustin on May 02, 2005) | ||

The emergency backup group has been renamed to Lost friends I think. Ralph had access to a friends computer yesterday. | ||

Bummer about the damn hacker thing.......Those guys and virus makers need a couple lashes with a rubber hose.... Anyway, back to full Thumper hood today, Got all my Insurance, registration, etc back to legal status and finished off my visual mods with a nice set of bar end mirrors from my local bike shop, will post a pic soon..... Just have to stop staring at her long enough to snap a pic! | ||

Jenlynn , the Jardine is loud. Not as loud as the Bub or V&H, so if your looking for loud I would say the the Bub would win. |
