Hey guys and gals, I am new to this site but i have been browsing it for a while. I just got my first motorcycle, its a 2001 Blast. Love it so far, but i want a better sound. It has factory exhaust on it and i was wondering what after market exhaust to put on it. I have been told by my brother to put pro series on it, but then I have also heard vance and hines. Just figured you guys would have some good and valid pointers. Thanks alot, jen |

I hope nobody here is e-bay bidding on the stock seat that is, as of now, going for $12 over the price of new! |

Nope, I'm bidding on a low seat, but I'm not surprised in the least. lol... Weren't there 2 stock signals that went for $30+ on ebay once? |

Sadly, turn signals consistantly go for more than new and I've seen them go more than once above $30!!! |

I should have ebayed mine instead of scavenging the wires from them. Think I could get something for stock Blast signals without wires? lol... |

Front wheel bearing question: The bearings seem to be 40mm outer diameter, 17mm inner, at 5/8" thick. I don't want to wait a week or two for bearings, so I found a local place. The bearings are 11/16" thick, and have metal seals instead of plastic. Am I OK? Do I need to shave 1/16" on both sides of my wheel somewhere? |

I could use signals without wires! My dog ate my left turn signals! Email me joeyguy52@yahoo.com |

okay guys, does anybody know what is a good yellow match for a blast? I was powerspraying bugs off, and even though it was on low I still blasted the clear coat off the fly screen. I was thinking of doing some design or something up front, but I was hoping someone knew off the top of their head what would be a good clear coat and paint to use...thanks guys! |

Clear coat? I thought that the plastic was impregnated with the color and had no coat over it. I have a black one and had to replace the fly screen after some deep scratches appeared in it just after I got the bike. (dont ask) My original intent was to wet sad the scratches out. For the most part it worked but I was not happy with the slightly dull area on it so I bought a new one. Maybe I missed something but I did not find a clear coat on it. As far as painting it there are threads on the KV which address the hows and whats of that. |

Hmmm.....that's weird, I didn't think it was clear coated either, until clear flaky stuff started peeling off after I sprayed it.....I'll have to investigate this further..... |

hey guys i just bought my first bike, a 2001 blast, i've just started getting comfortable riding it around town and stuff. A couple of days ago i noticed oil on the side of it. It's not in the airbox, but its is running down the side of it. You can also see it on the head up by my exhaust..bro said something about a rocker box..which from what ive read on here is not good! i was wondering if there is anything to check for to know for sure or if i need to just bring it in and pay out the butt. thanks, jennie |

Gasket kit about 35 bucks - labor about 1 1/2 hours - most can do it in an hour - you and/or a friend can do it yourselves following the general advice in the manual and our Knowledge Vault(for any safe short cuts you can take) - any shop could do it - the hardest part to remember is number side up on the gaskets! - lol - they changed the rockercover gaskets over to the new non leaking style mid 2002 for all HD products - WELCOME! & Enjoy the ride! BMHD--There's no clear coat, but other people have had something similar happen. Does it look any different since the stuff flaked off? If it looks dull, or if there is more that hasn't completely flaked off, you could try the Novus #2, it should take off the rest and restore the shine (won't hurt the decals, but it will take the paint off the heads of the bolts holding the flyscreen on.) Jenlynn: the PCV valve also will leak around the grommet in the rocker cover (odds are it is the rocker cover gasket though)/ |

thanks gearheaderiko. this is all a bit too confusing for me..i can manage all the menial tasks and i even managed to change my primary fluid(i was rather discouraged at some point due to taking those darned bolt out that are hidden!) but this job i think i am gonna have to break down and hand it to dad. (i will watch intently and help as much as he will let me.) then next time i'll say..."i got it but thanks anyways" hehe jen |

Hey Jen, at least you're in there trying & learning. Kat has learned to do a lot of work on her bike and I'm sure she can give you some tips (sometimes women can explain things better to other women). |

Diesal - they have the same power output so you might as well choose for durability between the two - the Pro-series being the more durable - lol - a step up would be the D&D or Jardine - after that the unobtainables - Force, WB, or Bub. Brodie - looking good! GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Geez - I'm ticked - I've spent a lot of time helping to build a community here and at Yahoo - however, someone has now hacked the Yahoo sites Ralph owned - stealing ownership, identity, and banning all who mention it - thus I am banned as well - lol - however, I'm still in under aliases - lol - still - almost half the info and pics there where from my effort and even though I and Ralph disagreed - still thats no reason to trash good effort - that is just childish, and the fact that I met half the Thumper BADWEBer's there first is really bugging me as well - I'm betting Yahooey can't fix this mess either - or won't put forth the effort to try - sigh - even though there was conflict, there was also friendship, and now its all history! At least the BADWEB still stands as the last Bastion of the Buell Blast - Thank God for that! Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ

That's crazy. How long ago did it happen. I checked out the boards at Yahoo, and I couldn't really even tell the difference. Must have happened recently. (Message edited by naustin on May 01, 2005) |

Yeah - I and Ralph and anyone else who says anything about the hacking have been chucked - though I have a few alias there I will not say anything more there because I wish to continue monitoring the situation and have reported to Yahoo! Go ahead - go to the group - ask where I am, or Ralph - the Ralph persona there isn't Ralph - lol - knows very little about bikes in general so there is fun to be had in that form - still the whole thing stinks of theft and childishness. Yahoo of course does nothing. Sigh... GT - JBOTDS! EZ |
