Ski, your linkage canverts the Blast to a "inverted" shift pattern, right? 1 up and 4 down? |

You betcha, I run reverse shift on my XB also (it keeps people from asking to ride it). Jp, I was going to use an XB shifter, but figured I would need a little more length on the shifter being that the foot pegs are a little further back than a stock XB. I could have got away with it though after mounting the X1 linkage it was only about a 1/4 inch difference. Plus there wasn't any XB linkage on ebay when I bought that one...LOL Your's looks good, I like it. "Ride it till it seizes" Ski (Message edited by xb9rski on February 19, 2005) |

My Dash finally gave up after I cracked in in a crash over a year ago. So I went a made a replacement out of a piece of clear plexiglass and a scrap of aluminum I had lying around. and in case you're wondering about the miles on that Speedo That would be 30574, and still Thumpin' along James |

Congrats on that mileage. It would take me 10 years to rack up that many living here in minnesota! I'm glad you posted, your pictures, because I wanted to post another picture of mine, but I didn't want to go after xb9rski. I like your dash, btw. Way to be resourceful! I painted my peg hangers....

xb9rski, your bike is awesome. My piddlings with paint and handlebars are futile in comparison to your project!! Hey once you get that prototype finished, can I ship my bike out to you? |

Ok, I was feeling left out so here's where my Blast is at the moment. I'm not too happy with the headlight. It vibrates way too much. It is cool though, fiberglass with the LED turn signals frenched in. It reminds me of a diving mask. I'll get some better pictures once it's repainted. I'm thinking silver... maybe. |

That front light is just a bit wierd - maybe a pic from a different angle - like straight on? Otherwise it looks tight - I always sugest black, but its looking good as it is! What intake you running? GT - JBOTDS! EZ (Message edited by ezblast on February 22, 2005) |

Nick, I wouldn't even know how to charge ya for something like that. I haven't been keeping track of what I have spent to do the conversion. Although I do actually plan to do custom motorcycles after I retire from the Corps. So who know's?? Gren, That would look really great with some CrossRoad rear sets. I agree with EZ, I'd go with black also. "Ride it till it seizes" Ski |

Maybe a really dark metalic blue. The foot peg struts look almost like that color on my screen. Not sure about the looks of the headlight. Maybe it looks better from a different angle. Overall though the bike looks cool. |

Naustin - your bike is tight! - customization is an evolution which sometimes goes at a fast or slow pace - I did mine one step at a time - others dive right in - it is always the end result and the rider's satisfaction that counts in the end. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Gren - been thinking all day about that headlight - looks like something Yaffe or Corbin or Ness would think of, needs a different angle though - still nice sculpting - was it made like that or did you form it? GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

Thanks EZ.. I'll get there with it. I debating whether to do what Gren and xb9rski are doing with a tail mod, but I'm pretty happy with the bike's looks right now, so I think the next thing will be a Jardine, and then maybe I'll work on paying the thing off before I do any more. Gren, I think your bike looks great. Paint it black. I can't tell if I like your headlight or not. I thought your bike looked alot more wicked with NO headlight in those other pics you put up, and it got me thinking about making my headlight sit back closer to the forks, as low profile as possible. |
