MAJOR ANNOUNCIATION As a result of the pent up restlessness in the Buell Motorcycle community, the proximity to East Troy (Center of the Buelliverse, WI) and the passing of Jack Reinhart's 57th Birthday a group of "Old Time Elves" has capre'd the diem to celebrate, commune and share a little Gratitude for the friendships Buell have brought to our life. We going riding? This time of the year?...you nuts? We're going to do the next best thing.....we're getting together for prime rib (I've always thought that should be plural...whatever...) and GREAT MUSIC. I got the tip on Tommy Castro several months ago from East Troy. The last hot tip I got from East Troy took you folks years to catch on to, here's your chance to get in early...even those of you who laughed when I raved about hearing "Ravi Shankar's daughter playing in the Village". BRASS TACKS: Tommy Castro hits the restored, rejuvenated and highly cool CLEARWATER THEATRE beautiful downtown West Dundee, IL on SATURDAY MARCH 26th, 2005. We've arranged with an owner, who will recover but never be the same, to host all the Buell folks we can stuff through the doors that night to dig the Jazz and wish Jack Reinhart Happy 57th Birthday! Castro, for those of you waiting for the arm on the turntable to return at the end of the Monkee's album, is on tour debuting his new Soul Shaker CD. This is the CD that appeared on the Billboard Jazz Charts in the #2 slot just days after his NYC appearance. So...if you are within spitin' distance of Chicago, actively seeking ways to assauge the winter blues, come check out REAL BLUES. NICKY PICKY STUFF: Dinner for the assembled Buellisi neigh on 7:00 to 7:30pm sorta time frame. About 9:00PM you'll get your first treat as Daniel "Slick" Ballinger gets things started. "Slick" is what is know in the business as in his "3P"....Pre-Platinum Period. The guy is good. To date, I've got nothing but clips, a burning curiosity and a desire to hear more. By 10:00PM it'll be happening...for those of you who have never seen Dave Gess and I awake that time of the night, you’ll see what it takes to breakthrough our "threshold of excitement" as Tommy Castro takes the stage at 10:00PM. Now when I say, "take" with Castro, I don't mean "occupy" or "stand thereon". I got the word from East Troy that if this guy rocked on record he was 10X on stage. Based on initial impressions, I'd say that's conservative. Fireman Jim Higgins, our on the scene rockspondnet in CA, will be reporting in from a performance in Vacaville and I'll let him tell ya more. Blake will be posting a poster with details. Anyone who wants a .pdf of the poster to print and hang or fold and fly, send a note to FREE POSTER OFFER and it'll be e-mailed to you along with the promotional video. There MAY, depending on response, be some cheesy Hanes Beefy-T "Buells and Blues" shirts available for $12 as well. If I get 50 folks wanting them I'll make'em up for the evening. Folks coming from fer away places can likely scam a free shirt. On the local scene, I've conscripted BOMBER to handle getting the word to dealers, et al. But, if I were you, I'd get my reservations made before al, as seating is limited. There are hotels in the area and the nervous owner of THE CLEARWATER THEATRE has agreed to help get group rates (in the hotel, not in individual rooms) lest we decide to camp in his place...more information will be coming to this site. So...if you are anywhere in the Chicagoland (technically West Dundee, IL) area on 3-26-05 come on out and play!.... I’ve got a sneakin' suspicion it'll be a ball! Court |

Poster and video trailers have been distributed in certain circles....if I can find a way to post them here I will. I expect this to be sold out by mid-late next week. We are all going to congregate early. If we are there for dinner, thus securing our seating, we can gain control of the premises! |

Slick Ballinger's CD is getting it's final mix down today...he should be in good form on the 26th. Also, for anyone who is intersted, enter the code "BuellUTR" while shopping for Tommy Castro stuff and you'll find a surprise 15% discount. I expect show to be sold out in the next 48 hours. |

Man, I wish I could ditch the in-laws and jet up yonder for the party, a real honest to gosh party. |

>>>a real honest to gosh party. You ain't heard the half of it, advertising has basically ceased after the place nearly filled with Buell-natics the first day. We're heading back to Gotham early the next day so the Easter Bunny will never know we were gone. I'd almost ditched the idea of the "event shirt" but the folks at East Troy cried out.... "Under the Radar", for the first time since 1992, has taken on a new meaning. By the way, anybody wanting to buy CD's or Tommy Castro stuff can go to the online store and (shhhhhh...don't let this out) if you enter BUELLUTR in the code box, you'll get 15% off the price. After you read this......please understand that I am gonna have to hit you with the neuralizer. Posters (which have received dandy reviews) are posted at the Buell factory and a couple local dealers, how they got to the dealers will be revealed in this afternoons Buell story I am writing. In addition, the promotional video e-mailed to 150 folks immediately became a cult classic. If you want, bring the in-laws. The event has taken on the aura of a good old family picnic and music-fest. We got a killer deal on rooms too. If you need Amanda's number, drop me a note. Court |

I wish this would have hit the presses about 1 week earlier. I would have re-arranged my vacation schedule to include Chicago. I'll be in New Orleans until Friday night. Instead of flying from Chicago (a PITA, not to mention 3+ hour drive), we're going from Green Bay. I won't get back until late Friday night. No way I'm driving to Chicago the next day! Have fun guys! I REALLY wish I could be there |
