Court,

Just wondering what the Buell factory thinks of us not "owning the corners" but "owning the salt". Buells running in straight lines for top speed seem to be exactly the opposite of what Erik was up too when he designed our bikes. There seem to be a bunch of us not keeping up with the advertising.

What do you think of my chances of getting my S2 autographed if we can finally pry the P-PP record from the Buell brothers this year??

Paul:

Twinxt you, I and the 4 other people on the internet....THEY LOVE IT!

Racing, be it Bonneville or just a couple skateboards in a parking lot, is in the blood at Buell.

It's not so much who crossed the line first as the David and Goliath component. You, likely clearer than most, surely recall the call to arms that spawned TEAM ELVES when the Moto Guzzi and BMW folks were struting thier twin records.

Now folks aboard Buells on both sides of the Earth have sent the other brands packing. When you say "land speed record" and "twin" in the same sentance you've said "BUELL".

In fact, I've gone so far as to do the Dave Despain simulcast and last year when Timbo did the 208MPH run, it was simutaneously annouced on the PA system at the factory. You love it, I love it, Erik loves it and the guys putting bikes in boxes love it. Like I say, not just the speed thing, but the strenght of the bond that binds us.

Now, that autograph. Likely depends on WHO you want to autograph it. I'm thinking Erik might be easier to coax that Roger Roeszler.

: )

Court

P.S. - if you have not met Roger, don't miss the chance. He was not only one of the pioneers of Buell Land Speed Racing but likely one of the down right nicest folks you'll ever meet on a Buell. Knows them inside out.
