Didja know you've got a headlight out?? I almost made that comment to the guy I was standing next to as I watched Bubba Blackwell last summer. I am SO glad I kept my mouth shut. |

Yup. My favorite OS. Stuff I learned about Unix I am still using (literally) 20 years later. Stuff I learned about windows has maybe 1/3 as long a relevant shelf life, and up until 2003 was pretty mickey mouse compared to even a low end Unix system in the first place. But I will use whatever OS is handy and will get the job done. I'll just be more annoyed with Windows. To be honest, while I respect Mac OS, it drives me nuts as well until I can finally worm my way into the korn shell under the covers, and even then, it just looks like an ugly Unix port. |

Dennis Ritchie & Ken Thompson now them two fellas developed something didn't they? Mac OS is BSD done badly -- lots of room for improvement, but they're on the right track. 20+ years of UNIX. |

Hmmmm....well, it is supposed to approach 60oF here on Saturday. Saturday, by the way, is a day when I am not building spinny powerators. The Buell will come into the basement tonight, be meticulously cleaned, babied and inspected in the event the sun so much as peeks out Friday or Saturday. If it does, I'll be lost in New Joisey again and it'll be -4o in Waukesha.

Not quite -4. Looks like a good week to ride, but I I'll stick with the S3T. That fairing does a much better job than the XB9R's at keeping the wind off me. |

The rumors are, as of yet, unconfirmed, but it appears we have a NEW xb9SX City CrossR owner. Bits and pieces of info from the Band C4 unit on 2450mHz are reporting that an Engineer in Mukwonago has PURCHASED, as in walked in a dealership, paid for and left with, for himself a CityX. Buell has built some fabulously narcotic bikes over the years. This CityX speaks like none before have. Point made. Congratulations...I shall send paperwork for application to the "OWNERS" Club. Why does the 'Billet Haired Manley Man' in the mirror of this City_X have such a happy face (and a Handsome one at that)? Could it be that his Beautiful Bride blessed him with a City_X for his 57th. Birthday? Maybe she wants him to have fun while supporting the Company he works for? Maybe this Manley Man has a New City_X because his Bride just spoils him to 'Living Large' (beats the term "spoils him to Death".Hmmm..10 plus years as an employee at the "best job I'll ever have", this City_X makes BUELL motorcycle #6. It's all the above reasons , but most of all I'm smiling because I know I'm married the Greatest Irish Lash in the world(and Wisconsin). Colleen you are the best! Thanks!!! |

Ahhhhh....in the words of the Buell faithful you have been "Crossed". This term is rapidly gainly use to describe folks who could ride ANY Buell they wanted and choose to eschew all others in favor of the Citysuper{X}. Here's basically what has happened...and include me, for the early months, among those who fell for the sleight of hand. When Buell showed the world the Citysuper{X} everyone's attention was diverted to the grill guards and the hand guards. It wasn't until credible and respected folks starting doing seat time that they figured Buell had quietly changed motorcycling. Need proof? Try to take a Citysuper{X} from someone who has purchased one. Congratulations and you are in good company. I have another friend who's been with Buell for 20 years who just bought one. Rumors....ugly rumors. you are going to love "The State of Buell - 2005". Court |

Hammer, Congrats on the CityX and Happy Birthday (a month early). Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to make it to the official shin-dig. Will the CityX be a companion to your AWESOME M2 (M2-XS as you have christened it)? 1313 |

>>>There's a certain XB9SX sitting there, with a sold tag on it, with a "Sold To" name of Buell hmmm... The story will get written and it's better than you think. I just logged 160 miles and have to race to a dinner appointment....gonna take me a bit to thaw out! Nice cool weather reduces load on cooling fan It's important to warm your bike up....note the tach..the bike is running OOpppss......kinda slipped off the ice on the ramp....no harm, no foul The rest of the pics are art...TRUE ART. Need shower....need food. Wait?....I can play here if I just ride a motorcycle or do I have to buy a Yamaha and pretend to be a quasi-Buell authority?....c'mon...I won't ride much. |

Paul, i (with Kristi/Ulywife's help) directed Tankhead to this thread: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=4062&post=664018#POST 664018 it's not an accident that our lights are still on, and our doors are still open. Tankhead, lots of great reading from Mr. Canfield in the "Court in Session" pages here in BADWEB. but if you want to hear him "real time," go to www.sacborg.com. either way, if you're looking for some great reading material from Court, it's a win-win deal for you. ps to Paul: did you get my PM this morning? Boy was I in Buell heaven! During the past week I've had 3 folks comment that they weren't really intending to buy a Buell, then read this thread and were drawn into the Buell tractor beam! Coolest part is that they are all as enthusiastic, or more so, than I was about the CityX. I have to tell you . . . these are the "Buell Moments" I love! |

"During the past week I've had 3 folks comment that they weren't really intending to buy a Buell, then read this thread and were drawn into the Buell tractor beam! " I actually was a Buell Blast owner. I loved the bike but had not too much interaction in real life with Buell owners in my area. I was always interested in the things posted on the Badweb and reading about Erik and all things Buell. The guys that I ride most with are a Honda sportbike owner and another buddy who is more the Triumph, Guzzi, Laverda,Suzuki and BMW rider ( yeah all 5) I looked at all kinds of bikes when I wanted a new, bigger bike. I was almost ready to buy a SV 650. I read Courts post on the Cityx and decided to check out a few of the local dealers. I walked into one 1/2 hour away there was a Blue Cityx on the floor. I demo'ed it that Saturday. It was in late November. All I remember is the ease of handling, the sound of the engine and the sun reflective blue from the top of the airbox. I went back to the Suzuki dealer and got my deposit back and put it on the Cityx. I have never regretted that. I never expected to get so many responses to questions and observations or have someone I don't know take the time to send me a Buell racing shirt just because I asked. Going the the Liberty open house on Saturday was just another experience that affirms my choice. Meeting the guy with his name on bike and having him autograph it??? Seeing people that ride miles just to get together and hang out. Rockers and families just hanging out having a good time. What a great way to enjoy a motorcycle. I thought about that and how much I love the Buell culture. I always go for something that is a little different - but once in awhile it is nice to meet with people that you have common interests. Thanks Court for putting me on the path. |
