Court, you posted a list of XB parts that you had stockpiled, but my searches haven't paid off. Can you re-post here or provide a link? Thanks |

Sure . . . .here is the first list of stuff I got. In addition . . . . I've picked up a couple cases of oil filters and today bought an extra set of shifter linkage today . . . after finding out they too have gone obsolete. Along the way . . . and it's going to take moving to the new house with the 4,00 SF barn and BIG garage to sort through the crap . . . but I think there are some boxes of various easterners, gaskets, all those little nylon washers and so forth . . . I'm keeping the bike so it makes sense . . . . my goal is to end up with a full wall of shelves with one of every part on a Ulysses. If I sell the bike . . I can make the deal more attractive with the parts of sell them separately for at least what I paid for them. Probably a fool's errand . . . . but . FUN. And . . .after all . . that's what I came for. |

P.S. - the BIG deal . . . the one that threatens to make your Ulysses a "boat anchor" is the front isolator . . so I've picked up a couple of those. The front isolator will (likely) never be made again. There will never been sufficient demand to warrant a production run and it's a far more intricate and difficult piece to manufacture than the one's some of the DIY folks have suggested they might do. Anyway . . . . call me a chicken. |

I've replaced that on both the XB's I had, and frankly never noticed a difference as a result. I know others had a different experience. There was thread where the Saab guys were rebuilding motor mounts. They were buying polyurathane epoxies in custom specified durometers. It seems plausible and doable if you keep your old core, but it would be pretty pricey and take a lot of experimenting. The epoxies are like $150 a gallon, only available in larger quantities, and have a pretty short shelf life. So save those cores everyone. |

Isolators are still available for now. Just ordered both front and rear along with a new belt. |

>>>Isolators are still available for now. Just ordered both front and rear along with a new belt. Correct . . the remaining isolators are and there are still some one backorder. They will unlikely not be made any longer. It's a cheap part that's critical. Smart move picking up another belt as well. Belts will likely be less difficult to get going forward. I doubt I'll need 3 shifters, or linkage (which has gone obsolete) either . . . but parts, at this point, are cheap. For less than $3,000 I ended up with 2 washing machine size boxes. In all fairness there were a dozen posters and old (as in the 80's) Buell Motorcycle Company stuff in their. Now . . . I just need to find the barn to put all this stuff in. :-) |

Wish I could help with the storage problem, but mine is pretty much full up. Certainly not enough room for a pair of large boxes like yours. |
