Well . . . . we got started today and wouldn't you know it . . the first thing I find is a reminder of the day I got the call . . .
quote: "we need you to spend a day with a couple photographers from Penthouse. They are doing a photoshoot in New York City . . . you'll need to fly in, arrange to get a couple bikes to their location and spend the day with them"
There have been worse days . . . .

Box #1 . . Gads . . . I didn't even remember some of this. . . .about 100 various manuals wrapped in plastic. Somewhere in here I think there is a case of service, parts and owners manuals as well. We'll see if we find that. |

Now we get to Box #2 . . . more stuff I didn't even know I had . . . bonus points to anyone who can spot a glaring labeling error.

Done for the day . . . . another 25 or 30 boxes and we'll be making some headway. This is a sample of about 16 shots from about 4 cases of files . . . it'll answer some questions, create some others . . . |

I'm afraid this thread could spin out of control . . there were 60 photos each from boxes 3 and 4 . . . including a number of magazines articles and correspondence announcing a "new bike, new company" from Day 1. Much of the correspondence, including all the background leading up to what would come to be known as Battle2Win was marked confidential so there is lots of sorting to do. I also found all my presentations for what needed to be done at Buell to "break away" and treat Buell customers like Buell customers, not HD mutants. That, of course, went no where. Included are various magazine tests, transcripts from interviews and internal correspondence on how to handle things like "requests for information about future products". Funny stuff . . . . and lots of great memories. Found a couple cases of tank stickers . . . most of which (although I'm not sure about some of these X1 stickers) made it on production bikes . . some that didn't. Too many pics . . if added to this thread . . . it'll take a day to load. But . . the good news is . . . progress is being made on meeting the SCU deadline for a clean basement. P.S. - one I'd forgotten about were my entertaining e-mails and notes with my friends at Ducati, N.A. trying to get a Monster from them to take to a race track and "test". They were . . no kidding . . real sports about it. |

Adders "Start New Trhread" link up top. I'd have a lot of fun snooping through your boxes. Lots of material for accompanying a tell-all book. |

What time are you putting the boxes at the street? Are you going to ride with me to bear mountain in the morning? |

Have you found the facility for the E. Buell/ C. Canfield Museum Of Paperwork, Parts and Extraneous Ephemera, Inc. Ltd. yet? Other than the Staten Island basement, of course. You should have a "Holy crap - look at THIS" box content reveal party - I'd fly out for that one. |

Daytona 1996 played a very significant role in my Buell addiction. If you ever want to get rid of that, please keep me in mind. |

Somewhere in all these boxes I think there are a couple cases of various manuals. They are also still available ( I think) through asb. When I get all the manuals inventoried we'll see what we've got |

I need tank decals for my S1W if you've got any blue "BUELL" with white "AMERICAN MOTORCYCLES" I'd pay what you asked (within reason)...they are unobtainium as far as I can find and one of mine is scratched up from a "tank not on the bike" mishap the previous owner had ....if I can't find any when I fix the tank bubbles I had thought of trying to paint them on |

RIP Sarah Ottallah. Sorry for mucking up your thread but seeing her name brought back fond memories. She was a real sweetheart and dearly missed. |

Oh . . my fault . . . I saw that and didn't understand it. None of this is being sold, just has to get out of the house so it's getting boxed up and shipped off to storage. I may at some point (given the new cache of crud we found last weekend) start getting rid of it. If I do, I'll post here. I had to go back and look at some stuff on Sarah . . . she was a legend, eh? |

I'm gonna guess on the mis-label....S3 bags in a box labeled "S2 saddlebags (narrow)"? Drop of a hat, man. I'll fuel up my truck and head north with a blank check A truly amazing collection you have there. It deserves to stay together as much as possible. If you need Southern Storage (Maryland), just let me know. Happy to keep ownership as yours, and just get them "out of the way" for a while |

>>>I'm gonna guess on the mis-label....S3 bags in a box labeled "S2 saddlebags (narrow)"? Bingo . . you got it. I think there are some S2 bags buried in here but most of the boxes of S2 bodywork are in Colorado. Found a brand spanking new XB9 muffler today, a Race ECM and a new shock wrapped in plastic . . no clue what it goes to. |
