can i get a graph of that? over the last few years? ive seen it before but cant find it - a friend of mine that works at the dealership is convinced that the 1125 is the reason Buell died and I am trying to convince him other wise |

I think part of the problem with either chart of the numbers is that it doesn't say how many the dealers actually sold in those year. It's just showing what Buell/Harley shipped to dealers. |

I thought that the dealers had to purchase the bikes? |

I think they do, but that doesn't mean it has been sold to a customer. |

Yes, all that number means is the bikes were sold to dealers. Normally, that number isn't far off from the sales to customers, but with the economy down the toilet all bets are off. The number to look for (which I don't have), is new vehicle registrations, which would get you 99.9% of the bikes sold to customers. |

I agree with you Froggy, it should be close, but while I was looking for an 1125R I know I saw a lot of '08's sitting at dealers during most of '09. Do you think you would have to go through state registration records to get the actual numbers. Or perhaps Buell/Harley has a real idea based on warranty registrations. |

I forget where the numbers come from or where to get them. I will try and look around. |

I thought it was interesting that the HD Sales 2004-08 link indicated that the Blast was in the lowest year 9.8% of all Buell sales. Over those five years the Blast averaged 14% of all Buells sold (delivered). Edit: fixed link (Message edited by froggy on January 16, 2010) |

The Blast was Buell's single most produced model, with over 20k built. |
