. . . . . I can show you the entire world in New York City. I had a lunch in Tribeca today and, what the heck it was nice . . . so I walked. Sorry for these rambling photoessays . . .but New York City is too fun NOT to share . . . . I hope you enjoy some of the motorcycles. When you see what I walk through and live in each day . . . . you can see why I write the way I do. This is a better live than I thought it was going to be. Any favorites jump out? |

Nice boots! You've got an eye for the unusual and the beautiful. Never been to NYC... someday. |

I spent the most time looking at the tire boot pic, trying to figure out how to best defeat the evil thing. I liked the Triumph pics the best. |

The makeshift shoring of the old broken brick wall is frightening. |

The tire boot seems to be supplemented by the lug nut cover. I wonder what they do with cars with steel wheels? What was the purpose of the building with the primered steel shutters? |

LOL. I'm with Blake. I loved the old triumph macros, and spent some time figuring out how to defeat the boot. (The outer one would have been a 2 minute job with portable oxy-act, the one over the hub would have been tricker...) |

Court, great pics! Mind if I use some of them? I teach a few "Building Const. for the Fire Service" classes and some of these are fantastic. Tim |

>>>Mind if I use some of them? Absolutely not. I'd appreciate the credit but no big deal. I have an extensive collection of photos from the 2 skyscrapers I've been involved with as well as LOTS of building and construction photos and can get about anything on our sites. If you need something, just let me know. |

I LOVE NEW YORK. Only been to City once, this Spring, but cannot wait to visit again. The doomsday group crying over the demise of Buell should see this to help gain perspective. I liked the exhaust on the PUCH. |

Wow, great pics! I've never been to New York city but some of those scenes reminded me of New Orleans. Thanks for the tour! |

Thank you. I will certainly give you credit. If you have anything depicting column and beam connections (the weak link in construction), gusset plates, access / egress oddities etc. I like the shot of the I-beam shoring... Tim |

Loved the red Allstate scooter by Piaggio. That brings back high school memories of my first motorized 2 wheeler, an Allstate Cruisaire I got through Sears back around 1958 or so -- Sky Blue, 3-speed twist shift, 2 smoke. My high school bud had a Triumph Cub that we worked on all the time and my other friend who rode had a Honda 160 Benly. The Honda friend and I got adventurous one day and we made a road trip from the LA South Bay out to Malibu. It was only what, maybe a 20 or 30 mile trip or so, but we found out how bad these particular 2-wheelers made it as hill climbers, dirt scramblers and stunt bikes on all the dirt roads we found that day. It was a long day but fun! |
