Brad - I'd say look used. You can get a REALLY nice S2 for the price of a slightly used M2. I'm saying right around 5-6k. Thats not much for so much bike. |

There is a trucking outfit called "forward Air" that I know can ship a trials bike (bike weighs maybe 180lbs)coast to coast for less that $100.00. You should be able to find them on the net. |

If I purchased a used S1 White Lightning, on which no recall work had been done, are the dealers still obligated to complete all recall work? |

Court: I have been trying to order a set of hard bags for my 96 S2T and have given up. My dealer gave it a good try but we got one excuse after another. " lack of hardware", "shipping soon", not in production yet", after 9 months I gave up and bought a set of Chase Harper bags. I have bolted them to the bag attachments and they look very nice. Are these and other body parts going to unobtainium? Do i have to start making a mold? I love this bike and someday would like to see it complete. Thanks. John S. |

Couple things here, one i am new to the BadWeb, second just bought a 2k M2($6400). Iwas sold on a buying a B after test riding a 98 Lightning. Was it that it looked like it wanted to go, at idle it was trying to walk across the parking lot. It may have been the 'hooligan' in me surfacing. I am hooked, took it line and sinker. Way to much fun! Loki |

John: Just returned from Bonneville. I'll see what we can find relating to support for the S-2. Loki: It get's worse! Welcome aboard. We are pleased to have you and I'm betting you'll not find a better source of information for Buell news. The 2000 M-2 is awesome, have fun ! Court |

Hey Court, I was wondering if you could help. My '99 X1 has a cracked stock muffler and has been sitting in Bergen Harley for over two weeks waiting for the muffler and the 2001 wishbone muffler clamp. I've got an October vacation coming up during which I was hoping to be on the X1, any ideas? Any phone numbers I could call? On Friday when I asked the dealer what was going on he said, "Oh, well your waiting for the race muffler right?" and I told him "no!"......RobR. |

Oh, Court, also the bike is under warranty, I guess that matters. This is a last ditch effort, is two weeks not too long to wait? Either way thanks.....RobR |

John S. Weiblers HD/Buell has a complete kit for the S2's in stock. About $1000, blue. If you are interested contact Joe Fox at 319-355-3071. I would guess there are other Buell dealers with inventory someone on the BBS could check for what you need. Best of luck MadDuck |

Mad Duck: I talked to Joe Fox and we cut a deal on the bags. He sold them to me at a price low enough for me to have them painted and STILL pay less than $1000. A great deal. Thanks for helping. Now what was the number for Parkway Blue paint? John Court: I still would like to know what the status is for parts for the S2T. |

To John S and Mad Duck; I'm glad to hear that Weibler's H-D/Buell is still helping out Buell riders. When I was on my way back from Milwaukie, WI in 1998 the guys there rescued me when my front motor mount broke. It was on their day off and they retrieved me and my broken motorcycle, repaired it and had me on my way the same day with out charge. Thanks again to a great couple of guys. |

John, Always glad to help and I'm sure Joe was glad to sell the inventory. The weblers have always been willing to go the extra bit to help me out. I used to think it was because I bought most everything in motorcycling from them, but I now believe they just live harley. Buell could do more in the way of dealer support. The service guys had a bad couple of months around sturgis with all the bikes coming thru and trying to get recall work done also. The mechanics there know there stuff and put in some long hours keeping customers happy. Glad to here positives from others. Paul "MadDuck" |

I've heard good things about Weibler's in the past and this is VERY encouraging. Fact is, in the world of Buell, most of the experience is shaped by the dealer's attitude and committment to motorcycling. Just had an interesting lunch with a Buell-wise dude in Grand Central Station. He brought up a good point. . . ever seen a Buell that has ALWAYS had both tires in contact with the ground and never had the rear wheel spun exhibit any of the common maladies. He cites the factory for ads that encourage this and hypothesized that a HD, simialry ridden, would exhibit isolator and muffler bracket problems as well. By the way, I'll be getting some info, follwong his trip, regarding the availability of S-2 parts and support. Someone be sure to remind me in a week. Food for thought... Court |

Court, I never wheellied, stoppied, or did burn outs with my 98 S3 and on the way to Laconia last year, thefront mount bolt on my V&H came off. My buddies and I found a hardware store and managed to buy a new bolt and some washers to make up the gap between the mounts as a temporary fix. On the ride home to CT, the muffler mount broke. Probably because it wasn't lined up right, but I don't think one wheel riding is the real cause. All the welds look strong enough to me, but repeated flexing due to vibration probably causes a fatigue failure. Just my $.02 Joe F 99 X1 Race Stripe |
