They do have some neat stuff. I suspect they have all the touring gadgets because the book thing doesn't make much money. They have a neat series of Motorcycle Touring guides as well as some others. The Two Wheels Through Terror book is simply amazing. If you ever had vision of riding south though Central and South America this book likely will change your mind. A great adventure certainly but a real pleasant one. |

>>>>The Two Wheels Through Terror book is simply amazing. Funny story about that one . . . at the outset of this project, Whitehorse sent Dave and I a couple of their recent books to provide a flavor for their work. After I got a couple I asked they send them to Erik as well. I skimmed through them and my wife sat down and started into Two Wheels Through Terror, she couldn't put it down. Turns out Erik did the same thing. I spoke to him a couple days later and he assured me that his lofe long dream of some mondo tour through Tiera del Fuego had just been taken off the "to do" list. I've got to read it. He and Vickie were both in shock after reading it. Good stuff. |

Court, you haven't read that?? Dude get busy. I guess the fellow in that book is damn lucky to be alive but unlucky to have gone though it all. Tough SOB. (Message edited by davegess on February 27, 2008) |

Has anybody ordered the 25 Years of Buell from Amazon.com? I ordered 2 copies on Sunday for $19.79 each, less 5%, and free shipping. It seemed like a pretty good deal. |

>>>>Court, you haven't read that?? Vick is still recovering from reading it and Erik, who has a rather elevated threshold of fear, was white as a sheep just talking about it. This is getting fun . . . . the finished product, complete with it's fit for public consumption housekeeping is looking good and it's high time. The funniest part of this has been watching Mr. Gess morph from photographer, philosopher to writer. Ya'll just wait . . . Dave spilled the beans on the Ducati/BMW/Buell deal and made me spit a mouthful of coffee on what was recently a pretty fair keyboard. In addition . . . Dave has provided me with at least one "not fit for print, but remind me to tell you" classic additions to the Buell repertoire! Cool beans! |

Amazon may be cheaper but I think Whitehorse does better when you buy from them. I like to support them 'cause they really are the little guy taking a chance on this book. Dave |

Trust me . . . when Dave and I are rolling in wealth beyond your wildest expectations. . . we'll remember you guys! It's really, on several levels, a better deal when you buy from Whitehorse. They've done an excellent job on this and the shorter the distribution chain, the more they make off the deal. They, like any small business, sell the stuff to Amazon way cheap to make the commercial matrix work. If you are the cause of Dave and I driving old beater cars! . . . hey wait! . . . we DO drive old beater cars! I'm kinda hoping that HD/Buell Distribution would buy like 10,000 copies and give one to everyone who bought a 25th Anniversary Buell or perhaps a coupon for a discount. Anyway . . . they jet has been ordered and Dave starts flight training next week while Matt Lauer is interviewing me on the TODAY show.

Ordered 2 copies. Dave Mate do not let Court anywhere near the joystick of that jet.We have all heard about his lack of control with things mechanical.Crashing a new Buell in a motel carpark comes to mind. Lets hope this deal allows you both to be able to afford a better old beater car.Best of luck.Ross. |

Court/Dave, Please remember us "little people" - and give a shout-out to the BadWebbers when you do Oprah's show. (Who knows? Maybe she'll give an 1125 out to each member of the audience.) |

Actually . . . my wife is my latest critic. Look . . I'm a pretty good pilot and the author of what I thought was a pretty good essay in 1995 entitled "The Good Lord Put me on this Earth with my Pointed toward the Ground and that's how I intend to keep it oriented" that got a lot of good press and laughs. But alas. . . . a recent landing gone awry on Microsoft flight simulator (and her subsequent perfect "three pointer") had her banning me from acting as PIC of any aircraft. I really get a lot of abuse. I'm gonna delete this though before Dave sees it . . . the last thing I want is him sipping a cocktail in the cabin of the Citation and feeling ill at ease. Court P.S. - Anybody who can drive a Ford F-150 should be able to fly a jet . . . right? I mean, it's logical. |

P.S. - Anybody who can drive a Ford F-150 should be able to fly a jet . . . right? I mean, it's logical. Not so sure about that logic, but flying a glass cockpit jet should be a lot less complex than flying a piston powered twin with "classic" instrumentation right? (I have only flow the former on flight sim but was once very familiar with the latter) |

>>> Turns out Erik did the same thing. I spoke to him a couple days later and he assured me that his life long dream of some mondo tour through Tierra del Fuego had just been taken off the "to do" list. That's too bad. Hell after I read the book Tierra del Fuego became a part of my bucket list. "Odyssey to Ushuaia" is another great book on traveling to the tip of South America. The key difference was shipping the bike around Columbia instead of passing through it. BTW, for anyone interested you can buy a signed copy of TWTT from Glen's website. Court I'm ordering the book through Whitehorse but I'll have to wait until next winter's hibernation to read it. I'm assuming that I can get you to sign it anytime we cross paths? JB2 |

Dave/Courtney, I can't wait to order a copy, I was just wondering if there was any way to get a copy autographed and then sent out to a deployed service member (myself). Maybe I could have it shipped to one of you guys (or both)? Let me know... -Sam |

Sam, we can get that taken care of. What might work well would be for us to sign one of the books at homecoming and then ship it to you. We could arrange for you to purchase one of those. Just remind us the week before and we can take care of it. I understadn that the digital prepress files go out to the printer today. Paper gets ordered and the book goes into the schedule. I am getting excited!!! |

Sam: We actually have a special deal for deployed (I was one of the lame U. S. Marines who lives with the embarrasment of never having been deployed) members of the armed forces. Drop me an e-mail with all your contact information. I'll add a reminder to my calendar and we'll handle it from there . . my bet is you have plenty more important things to tend to. The moment they become available, we'll get that baby signed and sent. Most of all . . . thank you for your service to your country. Court |

Sam: In the interim, I am going to send you the standard issue "Badweb Military Deployment" kit so you can let all the folks in country know you are a Buell fanatic. I'd send the pics of Dave and I in our centerfold spandex singlets but fear I'd ignite a diplomatic nightmare! Hurry home! Mike . . . I'm easy to find . . . first BIG city you hit when you head West.
