It remains to see how warmly this effort will be welcomed to HD property, we may have to set up a booth across the street like Buell was forced to do in Deland, FL when HD threatened to seize the Buell shirts with the "America's World Class Motorcycle" on them. Frankly, the GREAT opportunity is going to be to get folks at Buell to sign . . . I'm eager to take a copy, even if I have to do it "off premises" and get some of The Elves to sign it. It's been a fun effort, tons of work and Dave's carried most the weight. The photos are about 90% ones from Dave's private collection and many will shatter some long held myths and set some records straight. One thing that became evident is that one book simply isn't enough. . . . for example the chapter of "33 interesting Buells" . . some of the ones that never made public release got nixed . . simply not enough room. The draft looked like a darn phone book when we got it and is in final edit . . . Dave and I will be sure to post here when we get a release date. I learned a lot about Buell (and other companies) during the writing of the book. By the way . . . . we could probably write a book about writing the book. The undertaking has yielded it's own collection of hilarious tales . . . some of which will likely be related in the inevitable late night sessions at homecoming. Court |

Haha! I still have one of those "Daytona '92" shirts that I bought from Dave. I also have the hat that was given away in Deland, for test riding the S2. I'll be buying your book. |

I think the title should be "INSIDE THE FIRST 25 Years Of Buell". I don't think 25 Years Of Buell says enough, or why it is special, just some constructive criticism. --Sean |

"for example the chapter of "33 interesting Buells" . . some of the ones that never made public release got nixed . . simply not enough room." Too bad, that would make interesting reading. I am sure it will be a great book regardless.... |

Court, Seeing that my Bar is 15 minutes from Ukes and Great Lakes Dragaway and they both will be active in Homecoming. Maybe I could have you guys do a signing at the bar. I'm still waiting on hearing from Erik as to if he can play by me again this year. That is up in the air yet. I do know though I have a small contingent of people that want Buell Tattoo's next door to me. If this something you and Dave would be interested in I'd be more then happy to set it for you's. PM me if you need me or you have my cell. I figured doing it when Ukes or the Drag strip are having there doing's like right after. Everyone is in the area then. Let me know?? Dana |

Here is the link to the presale at Whitehorse. The early description is a bit off, we ended up with 128 pages, lots of neat photos and good stories. The proof copy looks great. http://www.whitehorsepress.com/shopping_cart.php?k eywords=buell&search_in_description=1&sort=2a& Preorders help us out as the press run is pretty limited and preorders give then a better idea of how many to print. As far as autographing sessions, we are likely to have something setup in East Troy on the days there are factory tours. You could buy a book or bring your copy and get it autographed. Book printing is slow, the books will not be shipping until the end of May so be patient. Now all have to do is convince the publisher the buy and ad on badweb, maybe if he gets a bunch of orders soon he will see the value. |

EZ, you should get an email shortly saying they are on back order.... I look forward to buying one at homecoming to have the authors sign, that will be my copy. The other copies are gifts for friends that are out of the country in some not so great places. |

I am really looking forward to publication, as I am sure many of us are. Thanks Dave and Court for your efforts putting this book together. From the look of the WHP web site and their other projects they look to be a real professional organization with a small business attitude that probably gives them the ability to provide products and books that other bike publishing companies can not or will not. Looks like I will be ordering many books from them. Frank |
