Carl, I traded my Sporty in on a Y2K M2 Buell back in September. 11,000 miles later I have no regrets. It's a great bike and once you get it you will have to explain to your girlfriend/wife why going to the store takes a few hours:) |

court, It's nice to see someone referring to Fran Crane on this BBS. Too few people got to benefit from her knowledge and experience and she seemed to know a million people. I was just thinking this morning she should be warming up with her serious mileage program and would be stopping by here. It is still hard to believe that she is no longer around. |

Duck: I have a tribute to my friend Fran on my wall. She an I spent many hours together and shared a connection that started the moment that I met her and Walter as C.L.A.S.S. instructors. I still maintain that the day I learned the most about motorcycling was the 10 hours that Fran and I spent, in my pickup truck, driving from Topeka, KS to East Troy, WI. She was gifted in many ways and a gentle gift to everyone she ever came in contact with. Court |

Court, There is a nice tribute to fran on the iron-butt web site. I will miss homecoming. This weekend is our MDA fundraizer and I seem to be thinking more of others lately and helping more than I used to. Take care |

I recently became the proud owner of a '97 M2 Cyclone (not stock). I'm going to change to Mobil 1 synthetic oil, my question what should I use in place of the HD sports-trans. oil? |

Court, After joining Buelldom a year ago & reading your posts regarding Aerostitch Roadcrafters & other protective gear I should be receiving my own Roadcrafter suit next week. 12 week wait. Rather than High Viz YELLOW! may I suggest a headlight modulator. Installed one on my "Blue Babe" and the results are awesome. This thing really gets peoples attention. I've had many people pull over thinking I'm a cop and lots & lots of people tell me "your headlight flashes" I'm a "old fart" who after riding over thirty years, traveling to every state except Alaska, Hawaii & Washington on everything from a 65 Super 90 to a FXRT (and now a S3T); have always been concerned about safety and have always worn a leather jacket regardless of 100 degree temps. Your persuasive argument some time ago swayed me to make the plunge to a Roadcrafter (1st offspring just graduated from college- feel like I got a raise!) and besides now I won't have to go thru the agony of delaying to stop & put on my raingear until thuroughly soaked and a mile from dry roads! Thanks Court for all you insight. Ed Thacker 99S3T |
