Hello Court (I posted this in the vault, but I think it may fit better here). I am a huge tank bag fanatic. I like to have a few things with me when I roll. Guess thats a by product of being an e-glide rider unfortunately. I am thinking I'd like to put the X-Guard from a City Cross on my XB12S. I have the voltage custom paint set so I'd really like to protect it. Can you think of a reason it should not fit. If so, do you know the part number I could not find it online anywhere and my local Buell dealer really seems to know less about Buells than I do. Thanks, Keep Your Knees to the Breeze! Kevin |

The "X" is not available as a separate piece, yet? Court hinted/asked if it was available how many would buy it, awhile back. |

I love mine! I almost always have a tank bag with me (gotta haul a folding cane) I had to make enough noise that Al at American Sport Bike gave up one that he had on a damaged city-x airbox cover. Currently that is the only way to get one in a non-city-x color. FWIW X availability on other colors or as a stand alone part was breached during the second seminar at Homecoming 06. They said that they would look into it then. It shouldn't be hard to run other colors through the jig on the assembly line. I say that because they cited concerns about the adhesive and the ability of the dealer, or owner to install it off site. I managed. I used a very volatile automotive trim adhesive. No problems yet. I do kind of like having one of the VERY few white firebolts with the x on the airbox though Then again I will never pull up to a stop light next to a bike just like mine! unlike the guys on the japanese sport bikes |
