This should be REQUIRED at all events . .
Chris "MOOSE" and Anthony "MUTANT" may have been the hardest working two folks of the day. Chris rode demos in dripping humidity and full leathers....he looked like a wet washrag when he left to lead the Queensryche group toward the Parkway as they headed to the House of Blues in Atlantic City
Shandon Walker, who designed the killer Buell themed helmet and scored a new Buell, was on hand to get his helmet signed.
Along with his wife and son . . .
Anthony and Gentleman Jon
Erik visits with some of the Long Island contingent who braved the weather to ride to the event
Erik and Thad
Erik signed his fair share of stuff during the day
Including tons of bikes!
Met tons of great new friends and Buell owners
I mean TONS !
Wendy autographed a MUSIC MATTER shirt for Mike Stone after he refused to quit hounding her. . .
Erik, Geoff and Mike from Queensryche and Liberty owner Tom were rounded up and photographed by about 100 folks at once
In one of the funnier moments of the day . . Henrik calls Erik with some "I had it marked on my calender for the 30th, not the 23rd. Erik told Henrik he was busy next weekend and I overheard . . . "let me get this right? . . you're a Doctor, please tell me you didn't have any surgery scheduled today!
Interesting to reflect back on the event (Message edited by court on September 24, 2006) |

Has anyone ever seen The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension? About a doctor/high-speed car designer/scientist/engineer/rock star? In order to be in his little group of scientist/engineers you have to be able to sing or play an instrument? Yeah, well, it was in the 80s I guess. Just reminds me of Erik and Ed - Buckaroo Banzai and Perfect Tommy. If you've seen it you'd know what I meant. Great pics! I'm still hoping someone got Victoria and the Queensryche guys? She's the little 3 year old with pig tails probably closely guarded by Tom, her Grandfather, the big guy NOT in pig tails. |

I didn't get there. It was pouring here, and after a half hour, we were wet; so we turned around and rode home. Looked at the weather radar, and it looked like it was raining there, so we decided to bag it. Damn. |

Yeah Crusty - I was looking for you too! Wanted to make sure you had met your "goals" for the party! I think you could have done all of them, I heard some Hendrix toward the end of the set. I was listening for "hey joe" all day. Hope to see you next party! |

Q to Court, what is the significance of the "63" on some of the Buell clothing? I was going to ask "The Man", but he was a little busy and it slipped my mind while he was signing my bike! |

Hey Court - Great to finally meet you in person. I have some good pics to post as well. Trip up from SE PA was well worth it. Did the one of Erik with me signing my bike come out? I am trying to get the ones I took edited and posted. Thanks Bill |

One thing that was unique and wonderful about this trip was that the band got to bring their bikes and we had time to play. These guys were friends before they played in the band and they are no less enthusiastic about Buell than Erik is himself. Having two ERIK's and two ED's causes some logistical problems and you are always getting responses from someone you never asked a question of. The corollary is that anytime you yell out someone's name, several people will look up. Their "Buell Stories" too . . .are, like about everyone at Buell, most interesting and worth telling. Ed, no the other Ed, adds a really flavorful chapter to the world of Buell and Erik, no the other Erik, has provided great contributions from yet another perspective. Like Erik, the single thing that strikes you about these guys from the outset is that they are friends and they are having fun. You feel like you've known them a long time, if you met them 5 minutes ago. Genuine enthusiasm is a cool thing. I was particularly surprised, meeting Mike Stone and Geoff Tate from Queensryche for the first time, how affable and accessible these guys are. I can see why Erik, not that Erik, thinks so highly of them....they are just plain downright nice people. No surprise they were drawn to Buells.
One of the Ed's. . no, the OTHER ED!
One of the Erik's. .no,the OTHER ERIK!

Court, Man, it was a real pleasure meeting you. What a great day. We drove the guys into AC and stopped twice, once to refuel and once to take a squirt. I was given tickets and back stage passes from the editor of Billboard mag. What a great day it was. You asked me to remind you to send me the high resolution pic of me and Eric (see above pic) I really would greatly appreciate it. tanks. tankhead10@hotmail.com |

Chris: I can do better than a high-res pic. I **REALLY** appreciate your taking the lead from Rahway to AC. Erik had to hit the road fast and having invited Geoff and Mike we wanted to make sure they were capably escorted to the House of Blues. You came through BIGTIME in typical Buell fashion. It's the very nature of Buell people. . . there's always someone with the right talent in the right place. Drop me a note with your mailing address and phone number. Also, I want to hear more about my "Tangled up in Blue" CityX leading to your Buell purchase. I had 3 people come up to me Saturday with stories of "I was interested, but your story pushed me over the edge and I had to have one". Too cool! . . Thanks again for being a HUGE part of making the event a total success. Court |

1313, I was guessing it had something to do with a racing number, but wasn't sure. Thanks for the info. What is the timeframe of this picture? Obviously early, but what year? (Message edited by toona on September 25, 2006) |

Court, What a great time we all had on Saturday. I’m so glad we made the trip. My son missed his soccer game but I don’t think he minded much since he got to sit on some bikes (especially the race bike) for so many photo ops. He was as excited as I was about the whole event. I was happy I got a chance to meet Erik and have him sign my helmet and bike. I really wanted to personally thank him for picking my helmet design and for giving me a thrill every time I take off on that new Firebolt. He is such a nice guy, so accessible and giving of his time. I rode along down to Atlantic City with Stone and Tate from Queensryche, and an equally sinister band of hooligans brave enough to make the trip. Let me tell you it was a fast and furious ride not for the faint of heart! I wondered why my jaw was hurting so bad the next day, and I realized it was due to the teeth gritting smile on my face for the whole journey. I’m glad I did the ride! I met some real cool people and hope to see them again at future events. Stone and Tate, being the rock stars they are, were very humble and personable and we chatted like friends of many years. Tate insists that he is getting a Firebolt just like mine as soon as he gets a chance. Stone said his brother is going to bid on his jacket when it is auctioned off at the end of the tour just to piss him off, then if he wins it, sell it back to him and make a profit. He really loves it along with everything else but knows it’s going for a great cause and can’t wait to see how much money the bikes, helmets and jackets bring to the Save the Music Foundation. It was funny that when Stone is not a touring rocker he grows his mohawk out, wears flannel and drives an inconspicuous truck and lays low in Wisconsin, a few miles from Erik. Also cool he is usually at Erik’s house or Erik is at his and they just hang out talking bikes and music. Only after they gave backstage passes and said their farewells, they left us for the pre-show sound check. We stood there saying WOW!!! Did that all just happen? Thanks to everybody at Liberty, especially Michelle for running around and getting my t-shirts (hope your delivery is as fast as our trip), and everybody else involved in the event. Hopefully I can make it next year as well. Court if you could email me the hi-res photos you took of me and my family with Erik that would be SUPER! Thanks again for inviting me and I hope the T-shirts I designed sold well? P.S. Sorry I missed the group shot...I was inside buying a shirt. |

Talk about a party with a GREAT ENDING! Owen Thomas Tonstad "Mini-Moose" was born, all 8.2# and 21" of himself, at 7:29AM this morning. This young fella came within hours of really messing up one of the best parties ever! We, collectively, owe him both a huge WELCOME TO EARTH and a THANK YOU! Congratulations Michelle and Chris!
