Here is what I am doing to help the Buell racing cause. I am sending a hand written note on nice paper to the following people; Jon Flickinger Buell Motorcycles 3700 Juneau Ave Milwaukee, WI 53211 Mr. James L. Zeimer President and Chief Executive Officer Harley-Davidson Motor Company 3700 West Juneau Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53208 For these two I am going to thank them for getting Buell on the race track tell them how excited I am to see them out there and how much fun it was to see all the Buell owners and all the enthusiasm. Robin Bragg Daytona International Speedway 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd. Daytona Beach, Fla. 32114 Rober Rasor AMA 13515 Yarmouth Dr. Pickerington, Ohio 43147 Patricia DiPietro AMA 13515 Yarmouth Dr. Pickerington, Ohio 43147 These will say how much I enjoyed the Daytona 200. That I attended for the first time in years (if this was your first time at the race be sure to mention that) just to see the Buells race and hope to get back next year to see them win. I will stress how much fun I had seeing all the Buell shirts running around and thought it was a good show. I will then send an email to the dealers thinking them for the great effort and telling how exciting it was to wee them race Here is Hal's contact page: http://www.halshd.com/contactus.asp Deeley's is here: http://www.trevdeeley.com/form/showForm.html?id=2&cid=2 Warr's is here: http://www.harley-davidson-london.co.uk/pages2/contact.shtml here's the email address for hannover Buell in Germany (rico's dealer) info@buell-hannover.de site is http://www.buell-hannover.de/ When I get the speed channel contact info I will do the same kind of thing and post it here (Message edited by davegess on March 14, 2006) |

Thanks for posting that Dave, I could not attend this year I am planning next year now. also Court thanks for the pics & story even from the outside this has been an experience. what other company has had the CTO or any executive make a visit like Erik did it says volumes about a lot of things. When I first read the BMC story and as I watch it unfold It's great to see the american dream alive and well Buell ownership americana you can ride GO BUELL! |

>>>what other company has had the CTO or any executive make a visit like Erik did it says volumes about a lot of things. I've actually had quite a few e-mails and comments about Erik making an effort to drive an hour each way to make it out to Nick's. It's just the way he is. I'm not sure that any of the other honchos of firms were there at Daytona and my sneakin' suspicion is that after 4 DNF's they'd be holed up, hiding behind an official spokesperson, "no commenting". Erik, tired and bummed, went way (literally about 70 miles each way) out of his way to get there, have fun and hold a frank and honest discussion about what went wrong and what he intended to do about it. Personal responsibility and candor is a refreshing quality in a leader. By the way. . . on a side note, I'd seen Buell Pres Jon Flickinger that day and he wasn't letting me leave without giving him directions on how to get to Nick's. It wasn't possible for both Erik and Jon to slip out of the factory commitments that evening, but for the record they were both chomping at the bit to visit with Buell owners. I like a company like that. Court |

I like a company like that. heck, who wouldn't? last year's homecoming saw both Mr F and Mr B hanging out with riders, kicking tires and, well, riding these things seem to have impacts on a number of levels -- the personal speaks for itself the impact of people who LIKE motorcycles have on how the bikes are designed and made may not be measureable using a caliper, but it's measureable using the ever trusty grinometer |

I got responses back from both John Warr, and a gentleman from Trev Deeley H-D/Buell. I was actually surprised that they answered personally, not with form letters. I guess it's all part of the Buell family experience. BTW Court, Thanks again. I didn't want to overtax your generosity by asking you for anything more. I appreciate Your going above and beyond for Me and the other Buelligans. Not that long ago I was a pretty loyal Suzuki fan. I found the Buell intriguing and made the leap. The whole experience has been a revelation. Badweb and it's members have been a big part of that. Oh Yeah......GO BUELL! |

I think it is awesome that if you go to the right place at the right time, you can talk to the man who's name is on the fuel tank! I had several really great conversations with Mr Buell last year at Silverstone and I am still bowled over by that twinkle in the eye when discussing the Engineering of these bikes. For me, it is the Engineering that makes these bikes special. |
