Speaking of Buell racing---I have not seen my special t-shirt .I was hoping to have it before Jim Got to Aus, but when it was not here when I got home I was wondering? I know you have been a busy Mid Sized Beaver. I saw a picture of a chair. |

Recognize this?
By the way. . . I shot these in 35mm high-grade portrait film (yes, REAL film!) and then made 60mb scans of the negatives. They are electric on Fuji paper. |

#1. I thought that Buell spent way too much time doing Dyno runs at the track, especially for a road race. I don't know what caused the dnf's but given one guess - broken motors from excessive dyno runs at excessive rpm's? #2. Buell's presence did not go un-noticed, I think it was after Friday's Endurance Race one of the foreign racers during his interview made a statement something to the effect of "I don't know this Buell, what is this? I am very surprised by this bike!" I don't think I heard the whole thing but I thought that was Great, and who know's maybe next year there will be a Brazilian Buell team at Daytona! **For the record, I have only owned a Buell for about two months. It's my first sport bike and this was my first road race, so don't hate me, I am no expert, and I'm not claiming to be.** I was in the garage from 3-2 to 3-6 as a member of an un-sponsored team, so I do know they did a lot of dyno testing or tuning in the Buell dyno tent, but I don't know what bikes were being dyno'ed or if they were even the bikes they ran in the 200. You were there for the CCS/American Sport Bike Association races the week before the AMA events. The CCS races had a lot more Buells (not XBRRs) in them that had to meet restrictions (HP based on weight ratio), which is why they were always on the dyno. They were trying to restrict HP while maintaining TQ. The engines generally tolerate dyno runs easily, as they take them to red line and let off. That is nothing compared to holding the throttle wide open on the huge straights at Daytona. There were a couple of the XBRRs at the CCS races that I saw, specifically the German Hannover team and the Canadian Trev Deeley team with Steve Crevier riding. There was a lot of testing going on as this was the first time that these riders were able to ride their machines. I got to talk to Crevier a lot that weekend as he was hanging with his woman and friends near the International Horseshoe where I was sitting, when not in the pits or on the track. |

There are 3,599 postings in the following consolidated XBRR sub-section, the pic is probably buried in there somewhere: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/171610.html?1144157603 |

Speaking of Buell garb. Court came through for me again! I just got my Buell Racing shirt in the mail today! Thanks Court. On a sad note there is an anonymous post on the xbrr sub-header stating there will be NO XBRR's at Barber to contest the FX race. |

Just a note of thanks to Court for taking the time and expense to send me ( and everyone else who asked ) to send a T-shirt. When someone does something like this it really makes me glad that I decided to join the Buell fraternity. What other group has this comraderie ? Thanks again Court ! I hope I get to return the favor. |

1313 sez: "Awww, come on... Everyone has a pic of Willie G from the front... How many people do you know of that have a picture of Willie G from the back?" Screw that...you have a shot of Willie G looking for a handout! That is rare... So, dude, are you gonna be in NC with your S2 next weekend or what? jimidan |

Jimidan! Had to look at your profile to put 2 and 2 together... Well, I'm back in NC with my S2. In fact, the last time the S2 moved on it's own power was on the trip where I passed you with your bike loaded leaving Daytona. Let's just put it this way - I will never use Cometic gaskets again, and leave it at that. I was forced to take my V-Rod (by trailer, if you can believe that - no tread on back tire) to TWO for March Badness. Didja ever find that lower belt guard? Good hearing from you, 1313 |
