The Post portion of the screen quite frequently is much larger than the screen meaning we need to scroll back and forth to read etc. Monitor set to 1024 x 768. The writing could be made smaller. |

Spike... I have never seen that either, on a bunch of browsers and computers. Have you checked your system for spyware? Go to www.lavasoft.de, and download the free spyware checker. When it first comes up, hit the "check for updates now" once, it will get the latest definitions. Let it search your system. Make sure you are running up to date antivirus software and definitions as well. I am not saying for sure you are infected, but that could be one of the things causing what you are seeing. |

Anyone using badweb with a sidekick (hiptop)? I just got a cast off from my early adopter sister, and have been having a lot of fun with it. I may throw together some code to make badweb sidekick friendly if nobody has good workarounds. |

Set your screen to a finer resolution if possible and/or set the text size... on you browser menu bar do a ... "View" - "Text Size" and select a smaller setting as you wish. Really should run your display at max res that will support at least 16 bit color. If that makes your fonts smaller than you like in other applications, you can do a ... Right Click on desktop and click "Properties" (or click on "Start" - "Settings" - "Control Panel" -"Display" Then... "Settings" Tab and adjust your display res as desired to a higher setting. You didn't tell us what computer, operating system, browser version, internet connection speed... those may help us identify the problem. |

Blackberry / Sidekick users... we are in REAL trouble now. With a little hacking (in the old noble sense of the word) I was able to figure out mobile device friendly links to badweb new messages tools. My sidekick would timeout if the pages were too big, so I set up several links, depending on the number of recent messages you want to retrieve. I can get 20 every time, 50 almost every time, but not much more then that. I tried it on a blackberry, and it worked about the same there. It is actually very usable. I already posted with it. Nothing like being able to post from the bathroom Don't worry, I will leave the camera OFF! I set up a simple page to make the links easier to enter. You can bookmark that page, I will add features to it as I figure out new things I can do, or just follow the links there and bookmark the resulting badweb page. http://www.kilgallonfamily.com/badweb.html Email me if anyone has any problems, needs any features, or has any questions.

Hey, I'd rather him here talking up the R1 then talking down the Buell I guess we could add "R1" to the profanity filter |

As an added feature of BWB: Is it time to start constructing a "bare-bones facts board" or FAQ for those new to Buells to save them countless hours of searching the archives to answer very straight-forward, simple but extremely important questions? e.g. the different pipes available, when a tps is required, general concensus on oils, tires, tooling, how the check engine light works, servicing info, belt handling and belt life, common upgrades, performance upgrades etc? Blake I wouldn't mind making a start on one or more of these topics (using the BWB archives as research material) and leave it open for others' input until the info gets refined enough to be posted permanently. Might help a lot of newbies. Like what's a Drummer? |

Blake, I love this BBS. This is what the 'net was designed for, community-building and information-sharing. Fans of this little bike company would be lost without it. The board works pretty well; not perfect but good enough. The only thing about it that really bugs me is the font. What is that font? Comic Sans MS? Yuk. Its very hard to read, compared to a plain clear font like Lucida Grande or Verdana. Add the beige background and its like instant eyestrain time. Please consider this in your next update to the board. Thank you. |

Blake...How about posting who are the Top Five or so all time posters in reference to total number of posts on the BWB? If the info is not readily available, don't sweat it. Bomber and I were wondering where Dyna (both current and former usernames) is in relation to the other contenders. |

Opto - the moderators could do that as a message at the beginning of a subtopic, &/or add a FAQ subtopic to that subtopic - lol - such a thing takes time though. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

No way, I would have swore there were plenty of folks with more posts than me. Hell, 1st Carlos passes me on the Borg & Bigj is rapidly gaining..although 97% of his posts are just links to motorcycle online. And Bill...I have only ever used 1 name here. Blake changes the screen name you see every once in a while but the account is the same one. Blake - help! Dyna's getting to me. Take 2 prozacs & go to sleep. |
