Fdl3, I've had the same problem. No big deal, but a little more inconvenient. |

step into the new century and allow notifications and subscriptions on topics, replies, etc. hard to keep track of what i post on badweb when the boards keep changing and topics get buried. email notifications would make this site boss |

I'll admit to being a rank noob here, but not to online forums. There's a wealth of information and obviously a strong group dynamic here, but it's mighty tough to get one's bearings, and tougher yet to actually find things. This may be because I've got a lot of experience with vBulletin, and none with this particular board format but it would be mighty sweet to migrate over to something that works like vBulletin does. (I have no connection to vB, BTW...) |

I have a similar problem when I browse a vB forum, I tend to feel a little lost and looking for things that I am used to on here. Switching to vB is an ongoing project. |

Blake, it appears that the white screen of death with the searching has returned. I have experienced it once, and I noticed some threads where people mentioned being unable to search. |

Blake, Same here.. Been happening for about 4 days or do. Different machines, different times of day. Another thing I noticed, if I do get a valid search on my work PC all is well, when I get home and use my personal PC, I see messages I viewed in the search from my work PC. It never used to do that.. |

Now that Buell is an orphan brand, perhaps we should welcome other brands, on the BadWeb. Give them their own space... it's what we've all wanted all along; Buell sold by boutiques other than HD. |

I'd like to follow a thread. Some forums have a way to email the reader when more responses come to the thread. Not essential and for sure I love what you have done. George |

Check out the emailing options in your user profile. You may select specific topics (not recommended, too much email at the top topic level) or subtopics (any thread or subtopic in any of the main topics), or you can elect to receive emailings of all posts to threads in which you've participated. Thanks for the nice words. More better to come. Blake |

I agree with switching to a different forum software. The BadWeB forum software is the clunkiest, most disagreeable forum software I've ever experienced. I especially dislike the archive "feature". I imagine it's there to improve performance, but any reasonably modern hardware should be able to run the software for a moderately-frequently-used forum with no performance issues. And the archive makes it harder to browse threads and search for stuff. Fortunately all of the good people and helpful information mostly make up for the forum software. vBulletin is great but obviously it costs money. Maybe the BadWeB forum software was free, but even if it was, there's a good, free alternative out there: Simple Machines. www.simplemachines.org/ I was using VB for a small local sportbike forum that I run and it was brought to my attention by the software police that I wasn't using a registered version. Ooops. Rather than spend $180 for VB when my forum gets a handful of posts a month, I searched for alternatives. SM works great and even has the ability to import from other forum software like VB. (I don't know what forum software is in use on BadWeB so I can't comment on whether or not it can be imported easily, but hopefully it can!) I'm a n00b when it comes to web hosting stuff but I was able to get my forum migrated over to SM with little to no difficulty. If anyone is curious as to what a basic VB forum looks like after being ported to SM, my forum is here: www.redlinerssiu.org. (I'm not trying to pimp my forum or anything so feel free to delete my link if links like that are not allowed.) This forum is running on a dedicated server with some very unimpressive hardware--a dual PIII 750 system with 768MB of RAM, running Windows SBS 2003. It also hosts a site I use for picture hosting (car, bike, friend pics, etc) for when I post pics on Ebay, forums, etc, and handles email for that same domain. It's never had any performance issues, but then again, it is under a very light load. (Message edited by thefleshrocket on December 12, 2009) |

Like I stated before, VB has been in the works, but the biggest hurdle is importing 11 years worth of posts. |

I haven't been frequenting this website much in the last few years as I have been between Buells. It took me a few years but now I have another Buell. I have been looking around the website and have seen little bits here and there on upcoming Buell rallies & events. Could an actual section be created just for Buell rallies & events, that take place across the country? It would be great to go to a few next year! |

Dale, Please see top portion of "Storm Fronts" topics. Also look within any groups/clubs listed there that may be local or of interest to you for a Moto destination. |

How about a topic or link just for Buell posters for sale? I want to get some but would like to see all available to pick and choose. Maybe a permenant top of the page link in either "parts, sales& service" or on the classifieds? mark61 |
