Ummm... To whom it may concern: Ok, my first suggestion. At the bottom of the page add a navigation link just like the one at the top of the page. On long threads, you have to scroll all the way back to the top of the page to navigate. Especially if you have posted something. (you really can't make use of the back button then) |

T.W.I.M.C. My first suggestion would be to make it more obvious to let the user know they are logged in. My second would be to make the PM system more accessible, how in the world do you know if you have any PM's? Then again I could just be blind and missing the link... Thanks D (Message edited by boltaction on February 18, 2008) |

Sorry to be a broken record; but when will the "thread starter" (info) be added to the topics page? |

XB12mel, a trick I use is to press the "Home" key on your keyboard, that’s instant top. Boltaction, the only way I know of to see if you’re really logged in is to look at the main page, and if you see the RAN you are logged in, if you don't then you’re not. As for the PM system, Badweb just sends it to your email account. It would be nice if you got a PM that Badweb would somehow remind you to check your email. I don't know if that can be done though. Teeps, +1 |

My only suggestion - and thanks to all who put this board up and keep it alive - is to add city/state to the left side of each post, so we can tell easily where a person is located. I know...you can just click on the username and it'll open their profile, and you can scroll down...but I'm laaazy and would rather save that time at the keyboard, and use it behind the handlebars! |

I 2nd Teeps and Ratbuell's suggestions. Also, and maybe this has been covered before, is there any particular reason BWB isn't in a UBB format? It seems like that's the standard for most all forums nowadays, so it's been kinda difficult for me to navigate around since joining... |

Because Buell is different! So BadWeb is different! On the plus side, Badweb loads fast even on dialup, so I am constantly browsing from my crackberry. |

hey guys and kristi, is it possible to add 2 sections in the classifieds 1 for free parts and 1 for swap and trade. as i remove and change things on the xb i prefer to donate them to someone who has a use for them or trade them for some out-of state buell shirts....rather then sell them to my fellow bad webbers.....just a thought thanks guys! |

Ustorque - for free parts, you can always list them on Pay It Forward. These parts are free to other Buellers, the cost of shipping is to be worked out between the two parties. This is a place for people to gather parts after going down with as little money out of pocket as possible. The only catch is, you Pay It Forward. We also have gear listed on this section. Pay It Forward is listed in the same section as the BRAN. As for the Swap Shop, that will be up to Blake. BTW - I like the deal you made with Twig. Pretty cool on your part. We've given away gear and a Uly seat and gotten several parts for our M2 and Uly in return from others. This is truly a great community. |

Is there a way to mark all read? Joe |

That's a good question. I don't know. Possibly doing a search for new messages would accomplish that? |

bad_karma - the best way to read badweb is by using the search for messages posted since last time you searched function. It effectively marks anything you found as read. |

I know this has been asked before but I gotta' ask again... a) Are there any plans to migrate BadWeb to a more navigational friendly UI than Discus pro? b) If not, why? While BadWeb is hands down the place for all things Buell, its interface is hands down the closest thing to an 80's era BBS since Q-Link. And just to suck up a little, thanks to the mods for their work on this board! |

That has been mentioned in the past and if I recall correctly it has been looked into as well. I've read that there are aspects of the current system/environment that is liked that isn't available in other options. And - just what is wrong with a 1980's BBS????? He could institute a gopher text based system, that would be fun. Sometimes I miss the TRS-80 and 4x40 displays and dialup 800 numbers late at night when nothing was on the tv. Sometimes. = = = = = edit: just googled this up: http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=196 heh heh heh, a gopher internet underground, heh heh heh (Message edited by mikej on March 10, 2008) |

What exactly do you find unfriendly in the navigation of BadWeB, besides the goofy archiving scheme I mean? Are you using the Search - Registered Users (Messages since I last searched for new messages) feature? We should put a preconfigured link to that atop the header. Actually though, we are looking at implementing a new system, among other neat upgrades. |

What exactly do you find unfriendly in the navigation of BadWeB, besides the goofy archiving scheme I mean? In my perfect world, all riding would be done indoors - and there would be a standalone Buell dealership on every corner - staffed by MIT graduates who moonlight as Hooters waitresses - until they're fired for being "too hot". Also, I'd like to see: a) the BadWeb's "goofy" archiving system Favre'ed and replaced with something a little easier to navigate and search. b) I'd also like to see a feature that would automatically redirect you to your last unread post in a thread when you log back in (ala bmwst.com). c) A WYSIWYG editor ala hdforums.com Don't get me wrong - I think that every Buell should come with a BadWeb pointer printed on the cover of the owner's manual - and I'd be willing to contribute $ to the cause. my $.02 |

I appreciate your suggestions and agree with them too, especially wrt a). If you use the new messages search feature mentioned above, you get exactly what you are wanting in b). Cool eh? So maybe we're in the '90s more so than the '80's. Actually BadWeB went online in 1998 and at the time Discusware was one of the more advanced packages available for a reasonable investment. Then UBB came along, then PHP Board and VBulletin. We're currently looking at a transition/upgrade to VBulletin which provides the WYSIWYG posting/editing option among a host of others. There are some issues that still require investigation, but if we can get the hoped for answers, we may pull the trigger in the near future. |
