Bamaboy, Have you looked at the Formatting Help Page? Jim, I'll take another look at the google maps page and see if we can get that to work. Thanks for the suggestion. |

I don't see it. Or are you talking about the google maps API deal? |

Blake, go to this page: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&tim e=&date=&ttype=&saddr=blue+ridge+%26+western,+rale igh,+nc&daddr=kilgore,+tx&sll=35.78499,-78.70342&s spn=0.007485,0.011351&ie=UTF8&z=5&om=1 click on "link to this page" and you'll get a drop down. It has a URL you can use to like to the page, which is the one I posted above, and what you paste into HTML to embed the page. That looks like this:
quote:<iframe></iframe><br><small><a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype= &saddr=blue+ridge+%26+western,+raleigh,+nc& ;daddr=kilgore,+tx&sll=35.78499,-78.70342& sspn=0.007485,0.011351&ie=UTF8&om=1&ll =34.172555,-86.78604&spn=3.81375,16.166&so urce=embed">View Larger Map</a></small>

Got it. Will see if I can figure out how to incorporate it into a \googlemap{google map code} formatting tag. BTW, dinner here in Kilgore is at 6:30 in case you make it in time. |

I have been active on this site for some time and I really like it a lot. I have only one problem; posting pics is a pain. I have dialup and an old computer, I know, my problem right? Well, I'm probly not the only one out there who has dialup. It seems like what with the new server changes and all, maybe something could be done that would allow me to select a pic from my files, reduce it if nessessary and post it. Thanks for your time. |

Hi Panhead_Dan, Don't know if you have it already but if you go to xat.com you can download a free program that is great for reducing pics. Resize them down to 500 wide and then use the compressor to knock them down to 50%. I've used it to shrink a 6mb pic down to less than 10k which still looked okay on the web. This shrinks down the pics on your local pc and doesn't eat up your bandwidth like on-line hosting of the pics does. Hope this helps some. We had dial-up until just a few months ago. |

Thanks Mike. I've got a resizer too. The last time I tried to post a pic, I shrunk it 50% twice before it would load and the resulting image of a roadsign ("Caution - Bear Country") was unreadable and the actual size of the pic on this site was very small. Maybe your resizer will work better for me. Maybe I just need more practice. 500 wide is a good tip. Thanks again. |

Increasing jpg compression (reducing quality) is more effective than just physically resizing an image. The image optimizer that xat.com provides a feature they call magicompression that works amazingly well. Try it. |

Hey Blake, how about a button for reporting spam and other questionable posts? |

Blake, I posted yesterday in the QB 'TVR thread' which has been achieved since the end of December. Why does the thread not come back to the current QB titles when a new post is submitted? That it doesn't means (if this applies to all archived threads) it can only be found as a new post when using the search for new messages facility. Surely this is hindering the thread(s) it happens to. Rocket |

Rocket - I've moved the TVR thread to the active page in QB. If I remember correctly, this is a glitch with the software that BadWeB is currently using. We try and move threads that this happens to if we see it. If we miss it, drop me a PM and I'll move it for you. Kristi |

Hi, Due to the truly International following of this excellent site, I strongly feel that there is something missing. In fact, I can go further....... There is an overwhelmingly strong Welsh presence, i.e. Me! among the Buell fans, (do you see the irony there?), on this site. So what we really need, (no, not a Welsh language site, I wouldn't inflict that on anyone!), is a Welsh Flag icon!!!

Kristi, anyone? I just noticed a similar thing again. The 'argument' thread has slipped into the archives, and adding a new post only takes it to the top of the archived listing, which is like before with the 'TVR' thread. Wouldn't it be better, and more visible, if the thread jumped up to the top of active threads when a new post is submitted, rather than remain in archived threads? This way, more people will see a revitalised thread perhaps, and possibly add to it? Otherwise any thread, as they slip into archives, are pretty much lying dormant without much of a chance of continuation due to their somewhat 'hidden' placing. Just a thought. Thanks, Rocket |

Rocket - moved to current page. I don't think the software is set up to handle the move like you are suggesting. As long as we can manually move it, we will continue to do so. Just let me know if it happens again. If I don't catch it here in a timely manner, drop me an e-mail. |
