How about tags? When you post something, like say the recent question about removing the primary on an S2 without removing the iso plates, the author has a list of check-boxes: o Knowledge Vault o Old School Buell o Drivetrain Excellent idea. Me too ignorant to know how to implement. |

Philly, Top or bottom of page, see the "Search" link. Or bottom of page, see "Last Day" link? I guess you are proposing that we add an explicit "New Posts" or "Active Threads" link too? Probably not a bad idea. Me might even cipher how to giterdone. Thanks for the suggestions. |

Blake, Yep, explicit (Can I say that word )link - sure it's behind the search button, but from average user perspective, or new to BW perspective, I'm not "searching" I just want to see what's new. |

Wow, Jon, first we agree on coffee, then chocolate ... there's hope yet Pammy wisely wrote: Milk chocolate is for wimps ... Sure is - Dark's the real thing. Philly; tagging would be outstanding. Don't know if the BBS software is up for it though. Think "cascading" tags similar in organization to the KV: check off KV:Chassis and up pops check boxes for the 3 sub-sections of Chassis. Make it mandatory - i.e. not possible to actually post your message until the check boxes are marked off - an AR Control Freaks dream Henrik |

Badweb has grown, and the inhabitants of the different "Hoods" rarely venture outside of their regular hang-out, and as such much of the "bar where everyone knows your name" has been lost. This is a great point and one I totally agree with. What's interesting about it is it ties in with the problem of 'new message' searching. As controversial as it might seem, because the 'Storm Fronts' section has become a place exactly as Henrik describes as not being the case for all of the BadWeB, its purpose should be defined clearly as a meeting place for local area Buell types, and NOT used as a separate topic thread for conversations that should be open elsewhere on the BadWeB for all to see \ join in. Because the Storm Fronts has become the only place on BadWeB it seems where the "bar where everyone knows your name" exists, the conversations taking place within are not know to others looking elsewhere on BadWeB without having to go to an area that we wouldn't normally because the topic header doesn't let us know what conversations are taking place within the 'Storm Front' threads. Note how the GDB receives little attention these days. Perhaps because of this reason? Sorry this sounds confusing. Read it again slow if it helps. So maybe the 'Storm Fronts' should be strictly a thread serving as information to local area meetings or similar, and general banter be encouraged elsewhere on BadWeB. After all, the bandwidth the 'Storm Fronts' receives shows the popularity of the place, but that is not solely due to what the content of the place is supposed to be about. All topics and threads could be accessed better perhaps by making access to the BadWeb available only by searching for 'new posts' first. That would be the moment BadWeB is entered. Once the search facility is used after logging in, the next page showing the search results tree should then, and only then, display and allow access to the BadWeB full menu option, giving you the right to ignore the 'new posts' if you so desire, and jump in to the BadWeB wherever you wish. And Henrik, I know where your passion for the BadWeB lies, even if I think you could have served better by staying on as a custodian. Rocket (Message edited by jon on June 18, 2006) |

Sean, You are/were out of line wrt Henrik if you ever thought anything dishonorable of him or his intentions. He's a rare person in that respect. All, Don't be a chocolate bigot. I like 'em all. The Dove and Hershey's Specials of both colors are wonderful. Truly addictive stuff. Not a big fan of white stuff though. But it ain't chocolate really. |

Anything that makes your pee smell so bad has to be suspected of some kind of evil. I like asparagus too though. Ever get desperate and convince yourself that the bakers cocoa would be a good treat? You know, it looks just like dark chocolate; you use it to make brownies and cake and such. Ever done that? Me neither. |
