And we have also added another interesting new feature... Add your BadWeB username to The BadWeatherBikers global stick-pin map. Neat stuff. (Message edited by blake on November 08, 2005) |

Perhaps custodians/moderators can delete the text of an offending post and replace it with a short reason it was deleted. ie. "Post deleted - it was solicitation from a non-sponsor" "Post was deleted - Personal attack" Seems like it would be the high road. DAve |

How about pointing out new posts with a yellow "new!". In other words, when I open up Big, Bad, & Dirty all the new posts that weren't there last time I visited B,B&D would be highlighted with a "new!" in yellow. Thanks. |

'Glider: Have you tried the "Search" function? If you use it, you'll get all the messages that are new since your last search. rt |

DAve, Thanks for the suggestion. While taking the high road is one we all strive to do, we don't always. Some times we be lazy. I'll do my best to not be so lazy. |

Craig, What Road Thing said! When you use the "Messages since I last searched for new messages:" feature from the Search page, you will see all the new posts since your last visit on all running threads on every part of the board. It sounds overwhelming but in reality it lets you maintain continuity on every running thread. If there are threads not of interest, you can tell that by the headers and just skip reading them. It is a no brainer to use, just click on Search at the top of the log in page, enter your username and password in the boxes in the center or the page, and click on perform search at the bottom. It you want to test that, log out and log back in and use it. Read up through the new messages and then log out again. Then come back in a half an hour or so, do it again, and you'll only see the new posts and the benefits of using it will be immediately apparent. Jack |

You can also designate your favorite topics via your user profile and choose to have only those favorite topics appear in the "Messages since you last searched for new messages" results. Storm Fronts: Besides keeping the page cleaner, we are also working on a reorganization that will allow each group to have its own custodian. He/she would then be able to maintain their board and customize it at will. Initially we'll be bestowing that capability only to the most active Storm Fronts boards. Fun stuff and it's all good. As to leaving a note when we remove a problematic post. That sounds a lot easier than it really is. We don't actually delete the posts, we move then to a depository for inappropriate posts. On account of we all want to be able to review and agree on such actions or disagree. What we should do is send the author of the post a brief note explaining the action. Thanks to all of you who take an interest in and support the policies of our little online Buell Enthusiasts' community here. Keep the suggestions coming! Please use the "New Messages" search! |

A small thing, but when I click the emoticon icon it opens a non-resizeable window that is quite small (using IE 6). It forces me to use both horizontal and vertical scroll bars to look for the right smiley. A bit of a pain you know... it would be great if the window were resizeable or larger. On the positive side, the smiley collection is fabulous! |

If by "monitor one topic in Storm Fronts" you mean that you'd like to receive emailings of each new post. Then good news, tha optiont is available via your profile settings. "Edit Profile", login as required then click on "Email Notification" or just page down to that section and click on the "Choose" button next to "Storm Fronts". Then select the "Daytona HAPPENINGS 2006!" thread, and click "Save" at the bottom of that listing. If you mean that we need to be able to assign custodial access on a subtopic level, I agree. We're working on that. (Message edited by blake on February 05, 2006) |

...Just steppin' in here a sec. Tim, Have you used the key word search function http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/search.cgi and specified Knowledge Vault from the drop down? If that doesn't get any hits for you, a question to the appropriate topic in the Knowledge Vault would be my next step. DAve |
