This wasn't any tactical genius stuff by 93, it's boneheaded mistakes made by the Yamaha team. Exactly how many times do they have to get burned before they learn. It ain't rocket science, it's common sense.
It's almost like Rossi thinks he's extending his lead when Marquez pits to change bikes. Bottom line, Rossi had maybe a 7-8 second lead when Marquez pitted on lap 2. Marquez was 10 seconds a lap faster on slicks. Rossi didn't pit until lap 5. Uh, by my calculations that's about 30 seconds lost after having a 7-8 second lead. The proper thing was for Rossi to come in as soon as Marquez did, which would have been Lap 3. Might have been a race then.....
I can't believe the stupidity of Yamaha. It happens every stinking time.
I was surprised to see anyone on rain tires. The track was nearly dry. Brno is a low grip surface and maybe they were expecting the rain to begin again.
Now we get to look forward to that horrible Red Bull Ring. Maybe Lorenzo will show up for this one.
Then again, I'm about to head over to the Peoria TT where the odds on favorite is Henry Wiles. He was running away with the Sturgis TT last week, when he landed hard and opened up his engine and dumped oil all over the track. Hopefully, his crew has put a bash plate under his engine this week.
Wow, after seeing a weekend long filled with dismal racing in person (what's up Motoamerica?) it was a treat to see that great MotoGP race on DVR !!! It wasn't too long ago that MotoGP had terrible racing, but it was still worth watching because of the spectacle. Now the racing is the most compelling of any all moto sport on the planet.
That Bonzai pass at the end reminded me of the pass Marquez tried on Rossi at Assen (IIRC) that forced Rossi to blow the chicane on the the way to victory!
Dovi did great to not get blocked and was able to turn inside of MM on his way to the line. Loved the hand gesture as well.
Rossi's challenge is done. He re-broke his leg in an enduro accident while training with the VR46 Academy. How many times do these guys have to injure themselves riding off-road before they figure out how much that jeopardizes their season???
It's up to Maverick and Dovi now. I wouldn't mind if either one won the title this year.

Totally agree Jaime. But as we can see with Rossi making the same mistake during the flag to flag races, he may not be very bright. I am astounded these guys are allowed to "train" in this manner during the season.
