Motor let go in the valve train on lap 10 after the third restart. Bummer. Good race between Cory West and Danny at the end. Bummer on Cory's DQ for sure.

The DQ involved the size of the entry hole on the snorkle of the aftermarket air filter on Cory's 2016 bike. Evidently Yamaha had reduced the size on the OEM snorkle on the later year 600's.

The size difference is only 1/10 inch in width and 1/20 inch in height. The rule says you must use same size as OEM but I see no mention that it has to be same year model.

Cory's team has appealed but it will take 3 weeks for a decision.
