So, just looked at the MotoAmerica site. EBR is not among the list of approved motorcycles, at least as yet. Pending: new R1. Wonder if they are going to get the RX approved? |

Larry- here's an audio interview with Erik from earlier in the week. He says EBR has been concentrating on the WSBK effort and (so far) hasn't put together a sponsorship package to support a Moto America team. http://www.pitpassmoto.com/podcasts/erik-buell-own er-ebr-motorcycles-12-23-14/ |

Larry (Ljm), where did you find out about this? Nothing listed on Millers website. I'm only 50 miles from the track and have been to all the AMA races so far since MMP opened. Thanks much, Bob |

Larry, thanks but I did find it on Moto Americas website. Guess I better call Millers to confirm and get tickets. Thanks again, Bob |

Yep, that was where I saw it. Check it every few weeks and just happened on it. Hoping they firm up Laguna Seca and add another stop or two as well. |

With Millers here hosting Moto America I'm just about ready to buy tickets for it but wondering if anybody knows for sure if ANY EBR bikes will be running. I really like the track and all venues it has but really do not want to just go watch while Josh Hayes gets a full lap lead and dominates the whole race both Sat. & Sun. Even if others are competitive I want to see EBR running, no matter where they place, so I can visit their paddock pit stall and visit with them, whoever. Also I have not seen any race entry lists for either Superbike, Super stock 1000 or Supersport. Cory West or Rodrob maybe? Anybody on an 1190? Thanks, Bob |

I think he meant Max Flinders? Max will be riding the Thrashed Bike racing EBR, which is Smoke's operation. Here is some basic info on Max. http://www.amaproracing.com/rr/riders/rider.cfm?di d=4726 |

Somewhat OT- Geoff May just posted this to Facebook:
quote:So my plans for Daytona 200 have fallen apart. I have a good crew and bike, but I need a sponsor to cover the cost of the event. Does anyone happen to know of a person or company that would be interested in sponsoring me to go and try to win the 200?

I gather that MotoAmerica has added the RX to superstock? Previously it was listed only superbike. |

Which Ducati's are eligible for superstock? Funny to find ourselves in a situation where the EBR almost feels like a cheater bike it's so good . Superstock is where it seems like it should really shine. Instead of spending $50k to turn a $13k street bike into a racebike, you spend $20k to turn a $14k street legal racebike into a racebike. |

Okay, NOW I'm excited. Check out who they've signed as one of the announcers for MotoAmerica on CBS Sports: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/935/22081/Motorcycle -Article/MotoAmerica-Announces-TV-Talent.aspx Wonder if they'll have a "tape delay" in case he gets a little "over enthusiastic" in his calls? Great to see ol' "#5" back in the spotlight, though!! |

I hope Colin is nicer to his fans. I've met him twice. Once he was great. The other very rushed and I understand. But I've seen him him say he didn't have the time to sign in a nasty way and I've seen him say. Hurry up people I got Shit to do?? |

He's probably a nice guy. Lots of people aren't as nice when they have a job to do and fans are being oblivious to that fact. That being said, there are better ways of handling it than telling the fans "to hurry up because I've got Shit to do." I have had alot of experience with the AMA guys and most are short with you when they are in a rush. Most of us would probably be that way. Although with the AMA, one would think the racers would make an extra attempt at not alienating the fans beause there are so few of them around. |

I have had a lot of experience with the AMA guys and most are short with you when they are in a rush. Most of us would probably be that way. Anyone here remember an AMA racer named Mike Smith? He raced in the early 90s, anyway. My son and I drove 1,500 miles out to Laguna Seca to watch the AMA races in 1992, went to the Honda tent to get some autographs. Mike Smith and Tom Kipp were both there. When I mentioned to Mike that we drove out to watch, he stood, up, put out his hand, and said "Man, that's great. Guys like you are what make this possible." Always appreciated that. Anyway, even though I sold my '06 Uly, will be pulling for all of EBR's efforts in all the series. --Doc |

Couple of years ago at NJMP we saw Josh Hayes rushing by us towards the paddock. My friend asked if we could get a picture. At first Josh said he was in a bit of a rush, then he stopped himself and said: "Yeah sure... Come on over!" Never forgot that. THAT'S what champions should always be like. Actually, EVERYONE we spoke to in the AMA Paddock was equally friendly and willing to talk to their fans. That's the one thing I didn't really like in MotoGP. You pay $100 to get a paddock pass, and no one has the time for you. What's that all about?? Never had a chance to interact with Colin. I saw him fairly close at Laguna Seca, but he had such a mob around him I didn't get a chance to even say "Hello." |

Similar experience to Jaime's at Laguna Seca with most of the riders. The fan walk was only open to those with suites. However, the EBR guys were actually at the transporter, and Pegram was at his as well. They were willing to talk to people when they had time. For the most part, the rest of the riders weren't accessible. The Hero guys were singularly disinterested. The AMA riders are more willing to interact. WSBK guys, not so much. |

At Mid Ohio, the Hero guys were quiet, which would have been easy to mistake for disinterested, but after I started talking to them they were smart, friendly, and very likable. I think it may have been more of a cultural thing than a disinterested thing, and maybe even them wanting to be respectful of the EBR effort in the US and stay in the background.
