Red Bull sponsor many events world wide as well as racing. However when they get involved in motor racing they tend to buy the team lock stock and barrell rather than just pay the bills with sponsorship.

I'd like to see a proper red Bull MotoGp team with even a fraction of their F1 budget : )

Hmmm, according to some chatter on Facebook, apparently Jordan Motorsports dropped Danny Eslick. I wonder if that could play into this?

I think that MJ is dropping racing motorcycle racing all together, not just Danny. There is a rumor that MJ is going NASCAR.

I was pretty sure of that. The NASCAR thing was the rumor.

Not a rumor. A simple Google search will show images of a car/truck decked out in familiar MJM graphics.

The issue appears to be that the National Guard will not be sponsoring MJM next year.

If not the National Guard then they need another sponsor, as I am sure MJ will not do it out of his own pocket for the fun of it. In today's environment in AMA racing a major sponsor stepping up is unlikely, so I would say they are done.

Eugene Laverty and Alex Lowes to Suzuki. That's a pretty impressive line-up for 2014. Presumably there is the carrot of a 2015 MotoGP ride if they perform.

Leon Camier free to ride the EBR? : )

Leon Camier free to ride the EBR?

Leon Camier did say he was quite bitter about the decision to drop him at short notice even though he had agreed a deal for next year on a hand shake with Paul Denning, so I do feel quite sorry for him. Especially so as he has done very well on the Suzuki this year between injuries. I think Lowes and Laverty will struggle to get into the top 3 next year unless the Suzuki improves an awful lot, but the carrot of a GP ride is obviously what they have signed up for. At the Jerez test last week Lowes was lapping fast on the 2013 Suzuki in the 1.41 bracket (under the old lap record) but still a second slower than Tom Sykes on the Kawasaki was doing at the same test.

Leon Camier has hinted that if he can't get a competitive deal in place for WSb then he will look at what is on offer in the BSB and AMA paddock. With his experience in WSB already he would be an ideal rider for EBR, if they can afford him. having ridden both Aprilia and Suzuki in WSb (and won BSB with Yamaha) he has a good knowledge of the benchmarks EBR are up against and knows all the tracks very well.

I'm surprised that he hasn't done better in WSB. It's amazing to think that he was so dominant in BSB that they introduced the new shootout format to stop anyone running away with the title as he did. Would it have been different if he'd jumped straight onto a factory Yamaha in 2010 instead of the Aprilia?
I know he has had a lot of injuries but he is still very quick.

I wonder how Paul Denning squares his indignation at Sylvan Guintoli's last minute jump to Aprilia with his treatment of Camier.

I'm surprised that he hasn't done better in WSB

I think he was unfortunately treated quite badly at Aprilia and was very much the second rider to Biaggi, in terms of support and equipment.

The Suzuki is not really competitive and he has had to override it to get the results he has on it, which has lead to the crashes and subsequent injuries.

Camier is a LOT better than his results have shown in WSb and I think on a decently competitive bike he would be a real threat for the title. Hi sonly problem these days is his size. At over 6' he is a giant compared to most riders in WSB/MotoGP (with the exception of Chaz Davies and Scott Redding).

I think you are right about the Yamaha too. If he had ridden that in WSB in 2010 he would have done very well thank you.

I wonder how Paul Denning squares his indignation at Sylvan Guintoli's last minute jump to Aprilia with his treatment of Camier?

My thoughts exactly. Denning was very public in his condemnation of Guintoli last year, then does exactly the same to camier : (

EBR can do better then that.
they should go with a young guy that they can develop and want to ride a an EBR because he want to improve it and himself and not becuase of money

EBR can do better then that.

How many experienced WSB riders/podium winners/BSB and BSS champions are available on the rider market at the moment? Leon Camier is probably the most naturally talented rider currently available and any team would benefit immediately from his experience and speed, regardless of championship.

Can EBR afford the time and effort required to groom a young rider just because he wants to ride the EBR bike? Most world class riders really don't have any brand allegience so long as the bike they are on is competitive.

By the way. Camier is only 27 so is hardly 'over the hill'.

you can't put BSB int he same table with WSB
in WSB you had some ex MOTO GP riders.
look at Biaggi, he spanked everyone including the current champ, who I said before the season begun that he would be the next champ.

Yeah BSB is crap, they ever produce good riders.
bayliss, Hodgson, Toseland, Haga, Byrne, Camier, Laverty, Crutchlow, Sykes, Hopkins, Lowes, Haslam, Rea have all raced in BSB and are of course just rubbish?

get a grip and read some facts before posting such nonsense!

A better question would be how many actually won at least a single race.

I can name two: Troy Bayliss and Ben Spies.

I think that's pretty much it.

how many of those have won a moto gp title,

How could they win a MotoGP title when most of them haven't ridden in MotoGp and those that did were on crap bikes in satellite teams (or the Aprilia Cube!).

You can't make comparisons where there are none to be made I'm afraid.

AMA Superbike riders have won many 500/MotoGP titles,Spencer,Lawson,Rainey,Schwantz,Hayden.

Back in the Roberts/Spencer days 500GP bikes were suited to dirt trackers , which meant every factory wanted US riders. Since 2006 nobody has made the switch from AMA to WSBK or MotoGp successfully except Ben Spies, and he is now gone. I can't see anyone making aa direct jump between AMA racing and WSBK/MotoGP, and we can already see US riders taking places in European series just to get noticed for the future.

Can he REALLY not know what it means to "quit while you're ahead??"

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2013/Nov/131121biag gi.htm

On the other hand, if it's just wild card appearances, it shouldn't be THAT bad... but still, he's taking a great risk with his reputation if he is seriously considering a comeback.

On the other hand, I'd LOVE to see Stoner return to MotoGP just to watch Marquez knock him down a peg or three...

Impressive times from Alex Lowes this week. Riding the Suzuki he matched Marco Melandri's times on the RSV4. Any reason he hasn't signed yet.......... has Erik made him an offer he's finding hard to refuse .

I thought he had signed and the deal was done before this test? Seems very strange if he hasn't got a confirmed ride for 2014 yet (unless of course he is waiting for a vacant slot alongside Sam in Moto2).

I should read these articles more carefully:

"The Northern Irishman was joined at the test by British Superbike champion Alex Lowes, who cannot be officially named as a Crescent Suzuki rider due to current contractual agreements in place with Samsung Honda, which cease in January."
