I'd hate to see the Indianapolis round cut. I realize it is far from the favorite track of the riders involved; but it is the only one within reasonable distance from where I live. Air travel positively SUCKS these days, and I can easily ride to and from Indianapolis and spend all three days there in just a week. |

Vale seems to have taken a big step backwards from the second practice... and Dovi made the front row! |

If only Dovi could string together a whole race of laps like that! |

I'm not going to give anything away here but I want to be on record as saying I ABSOLUTELY HATE the way SpeedTV covered today's race. Every bleeding time they switched away for commercial break and came back, something MAJOR happened and only occasionally did they show you the event. Usually they just spoke about it. WTF??? I've definitely gotten spoiled by beIN's coverage of the WSBK races where there isn't a single commercial break during the race. Let's see how CBS Sports covers the AMAPro races. Addendum: I showed this to a friend of mine, and his remark was that what we didn't see were the Pit Boards that said: "Commercial Break, make your pass NOW!" Great weekend racing, especially for British riders I think that is why Dorna has awarded the the TV contract for the UK to the smallest pay per view company they could find (BT Sport)! If British riders start to threaten the Spanish dominance DORNA will pull the pkug on British support by making sure nobody can watch the races! I read a telling statistic the other day....1.7 million viewers in the UK watched the Qatar GP on BBC free to air coverage (+ however many watched it on Eurosport). If that had been shown exclusively on BT sport, as it will be from 2014 onwards, only 170,000 subscribers would have been able to watch it! DORNA do not have the long term interests of the sport (outside Spain) at heart here, and the FIM should be looking into this |

Dovi schooled Rossi, lol did you actually watch? Have you ever ridden a bike at anything even remotely akin to race speeds in wet weather? Somehow I doubt it on both counts. It isn't surprising that even a multi world champion crashed in these conditions. What is constantly surprising is that more don't crash! Riding at speed in the wet feels like riding on the edge of a razor blade, and on the very limit of adhesion. It is just soo easy to lose it and so hard to get it back that luck is the only factor in keeping upright a lot of the time. Most riders will feel the front end go many times every lap, and Dovi, Pedrosa, Hayden, Marquez and Lorenzo all had slides that could have ended in the gravel. They were just lucky they regained grip just in time (there is little skill involved once the front end goes, you just have to hope it grips again). The Ducati has always done well at le Mans and in wet weather (Rossi was on the podium last year riding it, one more place than Dovi managed this year), so this is more a freak result than anything we should expect to become the norm from Ducati, although it is encouraging for them. The fact that Marquez made up huge ground on Dovi at the end of the race shows their relative pace. |

TWO of Rossi's three podiums for Ducati came at LeMans... |

Make the most of it..The way DORNA is running WSB and MotoGP now they may be remembered as the last of the US riders in world championship racing (assuming Hayden loses his Ducati ride at the end of this year as seems increasingly likely) |

I think there are a lot of WSBK teams that would give their left testicle to have Nicky riding for them... |

I think there are a lot of WSBK teams that would give their left testicle to have Nicky riding for them... Maybe, maybe not. WSB grids are shrinking so there are more riders than bikes right now. If Nicky were to bring a lot of money/sponsorhsip with him then maybe they would jump at the chance, but they also want young riders they can mould too. I would rather see younger riders on their way up progress through national Superbike series into WSB than overage ex GP riders who ae rno longer required there taking valuable team places from young riders. I know Checa, Melndri, Biaggi ect are good riders but I want to see the new generation not the old guard. |

I think a combination of the two provides the most entertainment. If the new generation can't compete with the MotoGP cast-offs then they really don't deserve to progress. Having said that, I'd rather see Nicky Hayden on the Pata Honda with Johnny Rea than have him walk on to the best bike straight away. |

Putting him on a Panigale at this point would be almost the same thing. Not exactly the same as putting him on the Aprilia. |

Sete was lucky to race when satellite bikes had an opportunity to win. Unfortunately, his move to the Ducati factory team didn't do him any favors. I also liked the fact that he was a "normal sized" human being, not the hobbits that dominate the sport today. |

I also liked the fact that he was a "normal sized" human being, not the hobbits that dominate the sport today. Just wait until Scott Redding gets into MotoGP. At 6'+ he will make Dani look like an action figure. It will look like a scene from Gullivers Travels when they line up for the pre seaason photograph! |

Hobbits...geez....At 5'3" I guess that includes me. Though at my age, I have at least 35 pounds on Dani. Maybe I should start referring to you abnormally tall guys as Sasquatch! |

its funny how he thinks people will forget how he sucked with ducati. As did Marco Melandri, Sete Gibernau, Nicky Hayden and everyone else other than Stoner that has swung a leg over it since they lost their 'exclusive' Bridgestone tyres. before that they had winners with Capirossi and Bayliss (once), but since then NOBODY has got on the podium riding a Ducati except Rossi, yet somehow he is singled out aas the only failure to win on what is basically a poor bike in comparison with the other factory bikes. Ducati should think themselves lucky that Suzuki and kawasaki pulled out when they did, or they would be further down the list than they are now! When Rossi decides to hang up his leathers and leave MotoGP the series will be in serious trouble. Regardless of your opionion of Valentino, he is the major draw and the only rider that is recognised outside the confines of the sport. Casual observers only know him (and maybe Barry Sheene) but that is it. He is a huge draw for Dorna and when they lose him they will struggle to attract TV audiences and sponsors. |

Cal Crutchlow fired another (well deserved on this occasion!) salvo at Yamaha at the pre race press conference when he was asked about the rumour Pol Espagaro was already signed for next year on a 'factory' contract. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sport/sportresul ts/MotoGP/2013/May/may3013-cal-threatens-to-quit-t ech-3-over-espargaro-deal/ It seems that Cal can't win with Yamaha, and even though he is delivering everything he possibly can to them they still prefer to sign another Spanish rider who as yet has won nothing Cal should leave Yamaha and go to Suzuki/Ducati/WSB next year if they continue to treat him like a fool. |
