Hi guys I am going to start collecting parts for a ground up build on a tuber drag bike. Can you guys tell me if there are any fundamental differences between the M2 frame and the S1 frame in the early years. The M2 frames seem to be more prevalent and easier to get. I'm thinking that for a frame up build there should be no difference. I currently ride a '96 S1 and it's way to nice to start hacking and burning on. Also, for a drag bike only, would it be better to eliminate the rubber mounts and fabricate solid pieces? or does anyone make the parts necessary to solid mount the motor and swing-arm. this bike will be a no-bar stretched swing-arm bike and I want to run mid 9's. thanks |

Pingel has a frame insert that comes with there wheelie bars that eliminate the play you get with the rubber isolators. I assume you could buy them separately. I have some somewhere I could try and take a picture so you can see what they look like. They are a pain in the a** to get in. I hope you got deep pockets going mid 9's isn't cheap. You may want to consider getting a 1125 and save your self some heartache and $$$$. Either way good luck with it and I have a lot of parts laying around if you need something. |

Thanks Willie, I'll check out the pingel catalogue or if you find yours and want to part with them let me know and I will buy them. What about the front mount? leave the rubber in?? it wouldn't be hard to fabricate that part. |

there are also bolts from pingle that come with these little aluminum cylinders, they go into the rubber mount to help stiffen it up. Going with what Will said, be ready to spend some money to get a tuber into the 9s. Not impossible, but it'll take some work for sure |

Yeah, that a steal! Like SerialK stated - you could put more than that INTO a bike (already running and together) and probably still wouldnt be where this is at now. Here youre getting something already together and set up. I can honestly say that if I had the money, I'd be seriously considering this, quite a good deal it is |

thanks for all the great advice guys... click on my profile to see what i ride right now.. it's actually for sale and I'm going to use my spare motor for the tuber if it all comes together. Just want to have something simple to run for a few years... the PS bike is very time consuming and believe me it is expensive. If this tuber comes together i want to run it in a class called superstreet in CMDRA. It would be the only V-twin out there and could be a lot of fun. It might be a little tough to be competitive in that class but I could also run SG with a set of bars and the index is only 9.70 for that class. If anyone is interested the Pro-Stock bike is $20,000.00 ready to race with all the spares. look here http://s387.photobucket.com/albums/oo315/cadillac- mack/ |

If time permits I will run at Woodburn this year. It's the only race that a reasonable distance for us to travel. Unfortunately it falls on the weekend between 2 of the Canadian events so It makes for a busy 3 or 4 weeks in august. Maybe this year. |
