Anyone else planning on racing at Jennings GP this weekend? I'll be racing my 1125R Sunday for sure. Pat Mooney. |

I was hoping to be there... Gotta work and the other half wanted to go on vacation in June.... She just told me last night she is cancelling the June vacation. Not enough time for me to get off. Good luck racing!! |

I managed to take a win in Heavyweight Twins Superstock, a second in Heavyweight Twins Superbike, and a third in 750 Superbike. It was VERY hot, 99 degrees in the shade, as the day went on there was less and less grip for the 1125R. While it was fun sliding around out there, it did nothing for my lap times! Stupid me did not take the advice from Paul at Dunlop to run the softer compound rear, as my competition did. Not sure why the softer compound worked better in the high heat, but after talking to the guy on the Ducati that beat me, he told me he'd tried to run the same rear tire I was using when he did the Solo 20 race on Saturday, he got so worried about the sliding around and pulled in half way through the race, giving up second place to young gun Garret Gerloff! No wonder I watched him slowly edge away from me. Next time I'll go race on Saturday and figure all this out..... |

I got a 3rd, 2nd, DNF, DNF and DNS on the XB12R. Not the best weekend. Lost the front in 9 in F2. Two front end crashes in two weekends. I'm doing something wrong. Any suggestions? |

Oh, and Pat, you were flying out there. Had to deal with a disappointed 1098 rider again! Had another great race with your son in LWT SB. Shaker, missed seeing you there, come to Roebling! |

Herb, it's great to see you and Pat Jr racing. Sorry to upset your 1098 friend...... What tires are you using on the XB, and did you get hold of Wes yet, about your set up? |

Bridgestone R10's. I think i was running the front too long though. I'm going to drop the forks a line to hopefully increase trail a bit unless anyone thinks that will be a bad idea. I think I am on the second line now, '09 bike. No idea what the rear shock length should be. I'll have to tell you what Jim (1098) said after Barber, it was pretty funny. Good that you are showing up and giving him heck, he had it too easy last year. Wes said he would send me some numbers, I'll send him another email. Tell Jr to take it easy on me, I'm too old for all that excitement. |

I ran the 003 Stones with great success in 2009. I believe my forks are all the way down in the triple trees. I have a habit of really late braking and trail braking. I recall I lost the front once (saved it, don't know how!) when I was still trying to find the correct suspension settings and was running to low of PSI. Hoping to make Road Atlanta! Won't be anywhere near competitive, but I always have fun there!! |
