WERA will be at Roebling Road Raceway, near Savannah, Ga March 19-20. I'll be there practicing on Fri and racing 2 or 3 sprint classes on Sun on the #544 Buell XB12R. | ||

So what you racing Laird ? I still haven't made up my mind yet on what classes. DSB - D Superbike DSS - D Superstock LWTSS - Lightwieght Twins Supersport F2 - Formula 2 Wish LWTSS and DSB weren't combined. I'd like to race both of those. Thinking the grids will be thick this year, a lot of fast talent. I'll be rolling in late Friday night. See you at practice. I'll be laying the throttle down with my little 71HP Duc, stay out of my way, lol ! O.K.... not really but some friendly smack talk don't hurt. | ||

Yep I will not be helping this race. I got shafted with classes this month on Saturdays. I should be free the rest of them. My first missed round. So sad... Crag grass is not all bad... below that???? lets see mole cricket and clinch bug racing maybe. or dollar weed and sand spur racing. | ||

Friday practice went good. It was obvious I'd been away from the track. My fastest times were about 4 seconds off what I was running the last time I was here 2 years ago. Only 1 off track excursion when I tried to pass 2 bikes on the outside of turn 5. They both came wide forcing me to stand it up. Off I went into the grass. I was almost able to stay out of the dirt trap. I got in there by about a foot or so. Got it out and waited for all the traffic to pass then continued on. The bike is running and handling great so I opted out of the last practice session. I think I have 1 practice session tomm, then racing on Sun. More to come... | ||

Sun. The bike was handling good. I raced 2 races today. The first one I started on the inside, mid pack. I got a god start but was on the brakes too early into T-1. I lost a few spots. Lost a few more when I checked up due to a rider going down ahead of me. I continued to circulate the track, but I was never able to get back to my lap times of 2 years ago. I had some close passes put on me and did some close passing of my own. 15 out of 17. Race 2. Started last place on the oustide. Got a good start, but again braked a little early going into T-1 and lost the 2 spots I gained. I was hanging with another Buell rider for a while, but again I was not able to find the seconds I needed. I was still off my pace. 7th out of seven. The lack of seat time is readily apparent. The only thing holding me up was me. But I still had a good time!! Thanks to Eaton and his friend for showing up and helping in the pits!!! Also gotta say thanks to my Pops for coming along this weekend! | ||

Rusty britches racing sponsored by: empty wallet foundation... You had fun and that is a positive, I blame tire type change. last year you were on the Stones... pressure 30r/30f hot off track. dont change what works. we already fought those other tires and stopped using them once due to cold striping no matter what we did. stones caused that issue to go away. Go back to stones IMO then get some of that lap time back. Tire confidence will make up the difference. I dont have weekend classes next race weekend... | ||

I had fun!!! It's all fun on the track!! Tires may have been an issue, but I lay the blame squarely on a brain control module malfunction caused by a lack of testicular fortitude... | ||

It's was good meeting you E_C, always enjoy meeting good peeps from the BadWeb. Your always welcome to hang or help in the pits at any of my races. Know it won't be as cool as hanging with Buell races but at least my Duc is air-cooled...lol! I feel ya Laird, I was 2.5 seconds off...wasn't my tires. Still had fun as always. You going to Barber on 5/7-8 ? Road Atl 6/24-26 ? | ||
