I had the 6 speed in the other bike. I put a 5 speed in it now and the 6 in the 160. I can't really say much bad about it. It is very durable. I had to replace some bearings in it, but otherwise been good. It kind of shifts like a truck though. This year I have put a reverse shift drum in both bike. Last year I really struggled with shifting due to different footpeg position. Baker has been good to me. I sent it back and they went through it and inspected it, I am overall happy with it. I will get some video someday. I just forget when we get on the dyno and get excited. Jeff |

Jeff I don't know if you have been following speed week this year, but it looks like the the so called racing tires are having problems. You may want to run those Bridgestones or at least take them with you. |

I have been following it. Hopefully, the SCTA will revise their rule in the next couple weeks. I just got my Dunlop race take offs last week, but haven't put them on yet. I was using a scrub rear for the dyno. I am going to wait another week or so before finalizing what I will run, but the Bridgesones will probably be it. Anyone need a set an a half of 208GP take off's? That was probably a waste of $200 |

Looking good,Jeff. Looking forward to seeing that beast. I have been following the tire issues and sure hope they go back to the old rule. All those runs we did over 200 on the 750 never saw a single tire issue. And saw darn few other guys running well over 200 with same results. Just another ill advised rule change done without enough data and regard for the end results. |

Quick question. All the LSR/Salt bikes I have seen almost all run no front brake. Is there a reason you are running one? (I am a bit ignorant on the rules so if this is a new or existing one feel free to smack me) |

First, JeffB probably rides that back and forth to work. Second, all the East Coast venues and Texas Mile on concrete require them for their courses. |

Spidy,we run them on the 750's as they are needed at El Mirage and the darn bikes make SO much power the drag saved is not as necessary as someone running a low HP bike and grasping for every tenth of a MPH. |

I put the brake on last spring when I was half thinking I would have this ready for June Maxton. That didn't happen. For now I am leaving it on because it makes moving the bike around easier (lots of hills in WI) and I plan on doing some test riding around here. It will be removed for Bonneville. I would be afraid of using it on the salt. |

Ahhh so it is only 10ths I thought it maybe more. I remember the Team Elves bike not having one.

Jeff,no problem with brakes at the salt, just got to remember ALL inputs to bike are slow and smooth, throttle and brakes,no grabbing a handful of anything!. I use em on the slow down and return road. |

I took the bike for a ride tonight after work. The data logger said I only got to about 1/2 throttle. I can't really describe how hard this thing pulls. I pissed off a guy on a county road and he was taking pictures of me on my way back, so I hope I don't heard from the cops on Monday. I won't be heading that way again. The chassis needs some work. The suspension is way soft and the chain pull really compresses the rear suspension. |

I wish I could take it there this October. But the bank account just isn't going to take it this year. I will probably shoot for May next year. Jeff |

I made a 171.9 qualifying run this morning and look to make my return tomorrow morning right away. The rear brake caliper was dragging and I had too much rear tire pressure. I also made a very easy run as far as getting on the throttle and running it up to the shift points. After all, it was a shake down run. |

I look at all that motor stuffed into your S2 and can't decide if it should be classified as a Buell on steroids or a Buell with viagra in the tank. Have fun. |

set a record today with a 175 return run. Then re-qualified with another 175.9 down run, so I am back in impoud. It had a 176 2 and a quarter speed, so I think the changes we are making are in the right direction, but I would like to see some major improvement. We added a tooth to the rear sprocket to see if we could get it to pull closer to redline. Maybe I will get to 180 yet. Jeff |
