Today is RACE DAY! Four races: Middleweight Twins, Heavyweight Twins, Formula Twins and Formula 50. Bike is setup well, motor is fresh. Today is going to be ABOVE 100 degrees!! I have formula 50 and Middleweight Twins in back-to-back races. That is 16 laps plus two warm-up laps - 45 miles at a sprint pace. With the temperatures, the motor is going to be HOT - and the tires will be getting "greasy" by the final laps. Interesting... Last month with the heat, they shortened the races from 8 laps to 6. Might hapen again. It'd be nice if they cut us some slack today. Too many "To-Dos" yesterday to be able to make practice. Regardless - there's nothing I'd rather be doing today. (Though I sure am glad that I FINALLY mounted the heavier racing oil cooler and ducting!) Runing the stock profile fairing instead of the full fairing - trying to get as much air TO the engine as possible. Been 2 months now since last race: Homecoming in July and last month, MAJOR oil leak (voluntary withdrawal after 2 practice sessions) - so I'm overdue for a fun race day. | ||
