Between 2 Ducati Multistradas. Gongratulations. Unfortunatelly I do not have any more details. I dont even know which Buell did it. So if you guys have any info, please share. This is how it needs to be done, real fights and not AMA's joke. http://www.1130cc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1206 37 " Here are 2 buells finishing 2nd and 5th against a shit load of Ducatis 1098, KTM RC8 and Aprilia Tuonos (they suck anyways). http://thekneeslider.com/archives/20...in-first-ra ce/ 3rd against japanese 1000cc bikes even though they did not have racing tyres. http://thekneeslider.com/archives/20...erbike-open er/ and here is buell finishing 2 and 4th against 1098's, rc8's and tuonos. http://thekneeslider.com/archives/20...top-twin-ra ce/ " |

Wow! Wow! Wow! That is spectacular! There was serious factory money in that event, and the Buell is nothing but a small team from a dealer. Congratulations to them! |

Alexander is the grandson of famed Malcom Smith. Walker Per and Max Morath, (our service tech) accomplished this 2nd place finish virtually on their own from tweaking the motor, to tuning the suspension and making all the test & tune runs. Hats off to two dedicated Buell mountain men. Technology, a multi-race winner rider, factory backing, and more power that Ducati brought to the race were all needed to keep Walker off the top spot. High Country Buell/H-D is very proud of them. ~jammer |

Yes sorry. It was qualifying not final results. Also if you want to see the links you probably have to sign in on that forum. The race was yesterday and Buell eventually did finish second. Also got the 4th place. Turns out they were aircooled. http://www.usacracing.com/ppihc/ts/2010

I am very impressed with the result. I believe it was the Ducati rider, and not the engine that made the biggest difference. Perhaps Greg was able to pull away on the straights some, but for his time and Walker's to be that close is amazing. Greg arguably has more experience on the course than Walker and that can make a huge difference given the number of turns. As a ballpark, a time near 12 minutes means an average of 60mph over the length of the course, if I calculated correctly. There aren't that many straights to help a riders average so that means pushing the bike fast through some of the scariest turns on the mountain. I'd love to see some video of both riders in the Devil's Playground area. |
