A cool visual for everybody....Walker Pew rockin some flannel last weekend at the first practice for the 2010 PPIHC. I am the official photog this year....expect more good stuff. Walker is entered on the High Country Buell...and Rob Smith is back on his S1 Lightning. After they finish paving the thing in a few years....It'll prolly be me in the race! ....and sadly the stacked competition...2010 Ducati Multistradas (Message edited by michael_hill on June 10, 2010) |

Thats the first time I have seen the multistrada and not hated how it looked (even the 2010 ones, which look better, but still way too busy). |

I move around alot...being that I have to keep the shots fresh throughout the day....Figure I will be somewhere in the dirt sections...if just because there are only a couple years left WITH dirt sections. |

This was the private "tire test". It is not open to the public or publicized. They used to do it to allow teams to actually test tires for race conditions...now it's just a way to get some more money in exchange for practice time on the hill. What you can't tell from the pics is that the wind was blowing 50mph solid for the whole test once you got about 100 ft above tree line. Crazy conditions...the electric bike was just wavering in the wind! |

Historic & storied Pikes Peak International Hillclimb Race is this weekend. This is the second oldest motorsport race in the US, only Indy 500 is older. Over 100 motorcycles are entered, with Ducati sponsoring a factory team with new bikes and several Ducati mounted privateers. Ducati has another Tracey brother, both having won in their respective classes last year, who is mounted on a 1200cc class that will go head to head with our High Country Buell XB12STT ridden by Walker Pew, built & tuned by Max Morath. We’ve been working on this bike for months, fine tuning, eeking out more power, tweeking the suspension. Last year Walker went down in an accident, as did our other rider Brian Anderson weeks before the race, so we had no choice but to mount two rookies to this very unique challenging race. Tracey on his Multirstrada has been clocked hitting 120mph two places in the last race section which is all dirt to the summit from Devil’s Playground. We don’t care, we have Buell under us and a familiar rider. We’ll be on the mountain before sun-up cheering Walker on. Anyone interested in joining us, besides mountain side before sun up, the pit area at the base of the mountain is a great place to hang out too. |
