Geoff didn't actually race over the weekend, but he did get some practice laps in. Here are some times (Toye won the race on his BMW S1000RR): http://www.mylaps.com/results/showrun.jsp?id=15112 48 And here are some WSBK times from last year: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/556/3594/Motorcycle-Article/World-Superbike-Miller-Friday.aspx (Message edited by elvis on May 25, 2010) |

Last year Jake Holden dominated this race on the Carona Honda CBR1000RR ,and his fastest race lap was a 1:51.243 . Jake Holden will not be racing this event this year, but David Anthoney ,who finished 2nd last year, and had the 3rd fastest race lap a 1:52.016 ,will be back this year. Taylor Knapp will also be back this year, after finishing 4th last year ,and having the 2nd fastest race lap last year a 1:52.002 . Taylor Knapp also had the fastest lap at the WERA races ,with a 1:52.142 in the 8th and final lap of the A Superbike race ,but still finished 2nd to Jeremy Toye, who did a 1:52.289 on that final lap . Ben Bostrom had the 3rd fastest lap of the weekend a 1:52.693 ,on the 146th lap of the 6 hour endurance race that lasted 175 laps ,that his team won by 5 laps . |

Read a nice article about Geoff May and the 1190RR in the latest Cycle News . Geoff May said when he tested the the 1125RR and the 1190RR at Road America in the rain ,the 1190RR was 11mph faster down the front straight then the 1125RR . The 1125RR was about 11mph slower then the factory AMA Superbikes on the long front straight at New Jersy Motorsports Park last year . The 1125RR's were able to beat some of the factory bikes last year in New Jersy ,even know they were down on top speed .so Geoff May should be able to win on the 1190RR at Miller against none factory bikes . |

It should be an interesting race. There are probably about 5 or 6 riders who should have a good shot - Geoff among them. One question I have is: What kind of modifications are the other riders making? From my reading of the rules, there are no limits to the mods, so some riders are likely trying some trick parts that aren't legal in AMA (or even WSBK). For example, I'm almost sure these carbon fiber wheels wouldn't be legal for AMA Superbike: http://moto-racing.speedtv.com/article/wera-winner s-roll-to-victory-with-bst-carbon-fiber-wheels/ |

Kurtis Roberts was just added to the entry list for the Superbike challenge . I hope his bike starts this time ,because he was supposed to race a Infineon 2 weeks ago ,but his team could not get his bike started . I was at Infineon ,and the story was after his team put a racing ECU on his Yamaha R1 it would not start . |

Kurtis as a likely challenger for the win? - NO on a unfamiliar bike with a new team at an unfamiliar track? - no way in hell !! |
