Wish I could make it... but that Easter thing is causing a minor conflict. Had a great time this past Monday, though:

I've been out of town for the past 2 weeks and just got back... It is doubtful I will be there. |

post up soon Please. Even though this race is close to home I am not able to attend. Also Smoke did the leaver adjustment help the brake drag? Just curious because it helped both My bikes Up front. Mike |

man it was crowded, and hot. the USGPRU guys took all the paddock spots and i ended up in the sand under the trees again this year. i was thankful for the shade during the weekend however. amateur middle and heavyweights ended up having to be split into 2 groups for practice because there were so many of us. i ended up with a best lap time from my first practice and got slower all day. too much traffic and being unable to get a clean lap made saturday frustrating. i prepped the bike for sunday, cooked dinner and got a good night's sleep. sunday's practice went better and i got a 1:24.4. went out for what i thought was my first race-GTO- to find out there were 2 #222's on the grid trying to fit on the same spot. i didn't check the name on the grid listing and it wasn't mine so i was kicked off the grid. it turned out that i had registered for GTU! the Buell 1125 isn't eligible for that class so they let me swap for unlimited supersport. went out, got a good start, had a moment in between 10 and 11(tried to tuck the front) and settled in to finish 7th. i was instructed to go to tech as i was not on the grid paperwork. it took a little time to explain and i finally got back to my pit. i did a tire swap for back to back races, HVWT SS and Supertwins. ended up late to the grid and started the race with 2 others on pit lane on the 3rd wave. i was making good ground but the race was stopped on lap 4 due to a serious crash in 13/14 and i finished 11th. went back out for Supertwins and we were gridded behind unlimited superbike. i got a good start and got into the superbikes and apparently led supertwins for a lap or 2. a ducati got by me and i was passed by a couple more bikes and finished in what i thought was 4th. when i checked the results it had me in 4th and the ducati rider in 2nd and 1st and 3rd were guys that i had seen only before the start and not during the race in front of me. at the awards presentation they called me for 2nd and the ducati guy for 1st. woohoo!! my last race was HVWT Superbike. i put on some slicks and gridded up, got a good start and rode a solid race to finish 5th. as usual i was the last guy packed and drove out after a shower about 8PM. next race, Carolina this weekend. see you at the races! tim |
