shew!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy now. now to see what DMG will do about the class the bikes can run in. Also will this help help with the xb parts as some are the same as the 1125r? rotors and a few extra. with a race license wonder what all will be available? or will some be like before available to non race. hopefully it will drive the race bike cost down. maybe a few different versions. from basic to full race depending on your pockets. now only if he can distribute these in different stores besides HD! |

Good news for Erik to leave the H-D fu ckheads. I have one question : Will they work for US racing only, or there are plans for any of the World series ?? |

I have one question : Will they work for US racing only, or there are plans for any of the World series ?? The WSBK rules state you need to be a production bike with 3,000 units produced in 2010, to race in 2010. Do you see enough workers at EBR to put together 3,000 bikes in a year? It looks to me that the purpose of EBR is to support Buells racing in classes where they already have been approved.} |

OK WSBK is not going to happen. Moto2 ????? It seems that buell EBR will have enough time for new projects. |

Does the WSB rules say the 3000 bikes have to be built the same year or can you race after you build 3000 bikes. There is a difference. |

I dont think ducati builds 3k 1198r's. But i'm not an expert on wsbk rule's. BMW raced last year w/o building a single bike for the street as did aprilia. their bike are just now ready for production. |

I dont think ducati builds 3k 1198r's. But i'm not an expert on wsbk rule's. BMW raced last year w/o building a single bike for the street as did aprilia. their bike are just now ready for production. In 2009, only 1,000 bikes per year were required for homologation. And you had to produce those bikes by December 2009. Aprilia has already produced 1000 RSV4 Factorys - the rest of the world got 'em way before the US. It looks like the FIM just changed the rules again, and only 2,000 bikes per year are now required for 2010. The "old rules" would have required 3,000 bikes per year in 2010. Here are the latest rules: }The FIM has updated its World Superbike, Supersport and Superstock Championship homologation rules for the 2010 season. Most of the regulation updates are related to homologation rules, making technologies such as anti-lock brake systems and ride-by-wire electronically controlled throttle valves legal only if they are available as standard equipment on homologated models. The minimum number of production units required for homologation was also adjuted. Current rules require a minimum of 1,000 production units by the end of the year, with the minimum originally scheduled to rise to 3,000 for 2010. Under the new regulations however, the 2010 requirement was reduced to 2,000 units. The FIM also moved the deadline for manufacturers applying for homologation in any class for the first time, requiring 500 units by the end of June of each year, three months earlier than the current September deadline. In 2010, the 1,000 unit mark must be reached at least 15 days before the final WSBK race of the year, compared to the current Dec. 31 deadline. At least 1,500 units must be produced by the end of June 2011, while full 2,000 unit minimum must be reached 15 days before the last race of the 2011 season. The 2009 season saw two new motorcycles enter the WSBK series under existing homologation rules, the BMW S1000RR and Aprilia RSV4. Both manufacturers were required to produce at least 1,000 units by the end of December. The new homologation requirements will impact any manufacturers seeking to enter the World Superbike, Supersport or Superstock Championships. KTM entered its 1190 RC8R in the 2009 German Superbike series, IDM, and the new rules will apply should it choose to enter the WSBK series in 2010. Earlier this month, the manufacturer announced it is shutting down its 125cc Grand Prix program and redirecting resources to the RC8R. }} |

Erik Buell Racing: "Very competitively priced front-running superbikes, no roadbikes" By Guy Procter - General news 24 November 2009 11:48 Erik Buell says his firm will offer around 25 superbikes a year capable of running 'in the front group' of AMA-level superbike races for 'a very competitive price'. But the terms of his license with Harley don't run to spin-off road-bikes. The soon-to-be ex-Harley-Davidson employee's new firm - Erik Buell Racing - will officially launch on 1 December, formed around Erik and a small team of former Buell employees. "I would love to take on everyone that was let go, but it will only be a tiny team to start" he says. The firm will offer race-bikes based on the 1125 and not the spy-photographed 'Barracuda', which as an unhomologated machine is ineligible for racing. According to the terms of his non-disclosure agreement with Harley, Buell can say 'nothing' about that bike. Nevertheless Buell is confident his new outfit will be able to offer competitive bikes, suggesting the 1125 platform won't stand still: "All of our bikes have met the rules of whatever organization they run in. "I am not sure what the final rules are for all the organizations, but we will build as necessary and allowed. "And I think we will be very competitive costwise if you are serious about running in the front group." Asked about the emotional rollercoaster he's been on since Harley's shock decision to bin his 26-year-old firm Erik says: "I've been worse, I've been better. I try to stay as level as I can these days. "With all the chaos in the world and all the controversy that can be stirred up these days with partial facts, I think it is a good time for people not to over-react." more good news |

traitors? give it a break, they made what they felt was the best decision for their team. its not like they said 'these are terrible bikes' or something like that, they just chose to race a different bike this season |
