Is anyone running the Buell race compound front pads H0300.06AH? If yes, are they worth the investment for track riding in the Expert group. Are there better alternatives available? | ||

I've been using them in my XB race bike and they are a huge improvement on the track! Great feel and stopping power. A little pricey, but i feel they are worth it. Schmitty | ||

I had great success running Buell race pads (front) while racing this year. No problems to report. | ||

I just switched from the Nissin 804 pads to the EBC HH pads from American Sport Bike. The feel and stopping power is very good. No fade and no deposits on the rotor. Keith | ||

There are several alternatives for front brake pads: Front Brake Pads, Race, Nissin 2015 compound, thick plate H0300.08AZ Brake pad, front, set Performance Friction 07 COMPOUND H0300.09AZ; Brake pad, front, Vesrah XX compound H0300.1AME; and Ferodo XRAC compound H0300.1AMD. Of these, the Vesrah XX compound is ridiculously expensive, has a strong initial bite, and is quite durable; it was used by RMR from Fontana until about the middle of the season. Danny Eslick finished the year running on the PFC pads, which are more linear and are very easy on the disc. Steve Crevier in Canadian Superbike ran the Ferodo pads which work very well, but wear faster than the others with a National caliber rider on board. For track day riders or club racers, I would recommend the Ferodos, being relatively inexpensive and with good feel, and also having the benefit of being street-legal and not for track use only. For faster riders, the PFC's would be good choice, and are also, like the Ferodo, less expensive than Nissin or Vesrah pads. The Vesrah pads have a lot of desirable qualities, but are hideously expensive and are reserved for AMA use because of the short supply. The Nissin 2015 pads are good for endurance racing. | ||

I used the EBC new EPFA345 HH this season. Did 6 race weekends usually 4 events and a few track days. I sanded them between outings and they lasted all season. I liked the feel. Better than the old GFA. Under $80. I would have went through 4 sets of the EBC GFA and the Braking Pads race version. I bought an extra set of the EPFA with contingency money from EBC, guess I'm set for next year! | ||

[lots of us care, Steve] should we here @ BadWeb hope that we'll continue to glean all the detailed info from Buell's hard-fought 2009 season? or should we expect the loss of that irretreivable info to an imminent Buell racing knowledge diaspora? | ||

I'd try Ferodo at their US distributor level. Try Donny Erickson at www.TAWvehicle.com. I expect Ferodo will continue to offer the XRAC pad for the Buell 8-piston caliper; they already make the required backing plate for other compounds. |
