If you have stock rims 180 slicks. If you have the lighter 5.75" daytona rim you use 190s

190/65 are the slick sizes for AMA. No bikes run the stock tires sizes.

There's no rule against any tire size in CCS, just whether or not slicks are allowed. The 190/65 info is new information to me. Interesting.

Also when you buy from the trackside vendor - ASK questions. Dunlop makes different carcass constructions and I remember when Higbee was trying different tires, one of the Dunlops grew enough at speed to actually rub HARD on the swingarm. Dunlop just got him a different carcass - same compound - good to go.

He still runs Dunlops - but you gotta ask about it. It makes a huge difference.

Wish I could say WHICH construction that was (I'm a Pirelli guy) but the Dunlop confusion always has me in its grip - huge selection in compounds AND selection in construction.

The 190/65 fits our XB12R no problems. When you go to a wider/taller tire make sure you adjust the ride height to make sure the handling will remain. : )

190/55 is the dot size we run. 190/65 is the slick size. Sorry the 195 was a typing error : )

Last January I was at the WERA race in Las Vegas. I had a chance to talk tire sizes with Josh Bryan that rides for Latus. At the time he was a Pirelli distributor on the west coast. He said to definitely stay with 180's on the rear. Something about profiles. I have a 190 on now and will be going back to a 180 with next change.
