Matt,
Lacking any first hand knowledge of the issue, you sure seem eager, way too eager, to take up your axe against AMA Pro Racing. Neil Hodgeson, Chaz Davies, and the overwhelming majority of the paddock refute your dismal characterization of AMA Pro Racing.

Which major motorcycling road racing sanctioning body most recently suffered the death of one of their competitors from crashing into a wall?

Ever wonder how much money the IOM TT folks make? Oh, but that's okay since it's just one event??? That race venue sees a competitor dead way too often for that kind of lame justification.

Macdiver,

Not racing? Perfect! I strongly support that behavior. Vindictively maligning and impugning the character of good people in order to grind your petty little axe against them? Pathetic. Unprofessional. Very poor character. Mladin's well documented history is one of petty public backstabbing whenever things don't go his way. Good riddance. Ben Bostrom, Larry Pegram, Josh Hayes, Neil Hodgeson, Tommy Hayden, Chas Davies, and just about the entire remaining compliment of the paddock are far better representatives for the sport. Matt is just too bitter. He should have gone to WSBK a long time ago. He could do with a few seasons long lessons in humility.

I know Sipp and and the other guys have not ridden the 1125RR. But I am using the 1125R to base my speculation. If you had a race of only Buellers. I see
Eslick 1
Knapp 2
Barney 3
and then the rest
Like Mat Mladin said. some people are giving the bike more credit then the Rider when it comes to Eslick.
just look at the yamahas, alot of good riders bit Bostrom and Hayes have to be their their top riders.
some riders are best at spped some riders are best at endurance races, etc
lokk at MOto GP, Rossi, Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa, no matter what bike they ride, they are the man to beat
in DSB the man to beat are Cardenas, Eslick and Hacking

Danny fastest in DSB practice, but where's Shawn?

Keep in mind, Shawn races the same bike in DSB and SB. If he feels the bike is dialed in, he might skip a practice. Or if DSB practice immediately follows SBK practice, it is impossible to switch the wheels fast enough to participate in both sessions.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, even though Danny is the fastest in practice right now he is only qualified 10th and will have to play catchup to podium or win. I'll be glued to my TV tonight to see first hand. Go Danny and Buell racing.

I am not taking up arms against the AMA in particular, but against organisers who play roulette with rider saftey in general. It just happens that the AMA are in the spotlight at the moment for exactly that. Hodgson has also stated that he thinks the track is dangerous, as have other top riders. However it is up to the individual riders to make their own decision as to whether it is worth racing or not. Mladin has said a lot of stuff over the years that I certainly don't agree with, and I also feel that he should have moved to WSb years ago instead of playing the big fish in the little pond for as long as he has done. However, on this occasion I beleive he is not only right, but brave to have made a stand, as are Hacking & Pietri. Other riders will race whilst muttering about safety issues but nothing will change unless a stand like this is made or a rider is killed.

As for your comments about the IOM, they are way out of order. All competitiors know exactly what they are getting into by racing on the Isle of Man. Nonody is made promises by organisers that safety will be improved only to arrive att eh circuit to find it is exactly the same as it was before.
As teh IOM TT (and Manx GP) is not part of a chanmpionship there are no commercial pressures to compete there and nobody is forced to ride on the Isle of Man or any other 'pure' roads circuits because they need points in a ational series. It is ridiculous to compare the AMA with the IOM when it comes to money, because the AMA is way richer and the top riders get paid a lot more than IOM TT racers. In fact most IOM racers don't get paid at all!

"Nobody is made promises by organisers that safety will be improved only to arrive at the circuit to find it is exactly the same as it was before. "

Where in history has that scenario ever occurred? Are you saying that is the case at Heartland Park this weekend? If so, you couldn't be more mistaken.

I can respect Hacking and Pietri for sitting out the races this weekend as they've not taken to petty public attacks against good people.

"Hodgson has also stated that he thinks the track is dangerous, as have other top riders."

Good for him and them for calling attention to that issue. What else did he/they say? Did he/they exploit the situation to publicly wage personal attack against people?

No, he/they certainly didn't. Neil is a class act all the way.

"It is ridiculous to compare the AMA with the IOM when it comes to money, because the AMA is way richer"

Really. I'd love to see your statistics to back that up.

You think the leading IOM racers make less than Taylor Knapp and the rest of the non-factory riders in AMA SBK?

But no matter, I don't buy that promoting a dangerous race is okay as long as you don't pay the contestants or make it part of a series. The logic of that argument escapes me. How much does the Isle of Mann economy benefit from the race?

I ask again, which major motorcycle road racing series last suffered the death of a contestant due to crashing into a wall?

This is obscene. I had no idea of the carnage. The people of the island and Isle of Man Department of Tourism should be ashamed of themselves. I had no idea.

If true, the fact that competitors are not paid well makes it far WORSE in my view, as then it's pure exploitation of them with no fair compensation, all for the benefit of the Isle of Man Department of Tourism, whoever that encompasses. I guarantee you the motive of that group is money and nothing but money.

Since 1990, 79 people have died due to the IOM motorcycle racing events. Can you imagine if any venue in America had that kind of horrendous record? I had no idea.

You are barking up the wrong tree if you think the AMA has need of a lesson in this arena, but the IOM TT is easily excused or forgiven.

I hope that no Buell ever sets tire to pavement there and you can be sure that BadWeB sure won't be supporting any future efforts for a Buell to race there. What a disgrace to motorcycle racing in this day and age. I had no idea. My bad.

Class in action...

Another example of how to be a professional racer with class...

It speaks well of Mr. Hacking and Pietri that they somehow were able to remain professional and avoid waging public personal attack against the race organizers and track owner(s).

That's an interesting list in that there seems to be no pattern to the locations . . . I started looking to see if folks, for example, died at Bray Hill. Nope . . . . all over.

It really speaks volumes for just how safe modern race tracks are.

I heard the big 4 are protesting allowing the Uly to compete due to its massive suspension travel advantage.

No he is riding his Suzuki this weekend. But he likes the 1125RR very much. Maybe later this year another 1125RR or two will be seen. There are a number of people interested in them for next year but it's hard to switch near the end of the season.

I texted Mitsu and he told me that Shawn is fine. They're having dinner right now. The bike is a little scuffed up but he will race again tomorrow.

GO SHAWN!

Now that was a good race.
