new bike. well same bike new motor. will be raced in the next race in superbike. this is the test bike from buell. not fully done its the first race for it. it has a new engine a new rpm and will come with goodies on the bike. similar to the xbrr project. keep your eyes out for it. in the next ama races soon. us buell guys will get a superbike soon besides a daytona bike. which is a suspension upgraded stock bike a ecu and a pipe. anyone can get. the superbike will be more limited and expensive. chain driven and more as stock items. that's all I know. basic test are going on. see it for yourself in buells own release of videos as they have admitted working towards the superbike as there goal. mike (Message edited by on July 04, 2009) |

So where'd you get the info? Who is bringing out the bike? Just checked the AMA entry list for Superbike at Laguna. The only Buell entered is Shawn. If Shawn had a new factory superbike engine do you think Steve could be quiet a out it? We would know something!! |

"well if there is a racetrack to show up with new stuff is deff at our home court. I do hope this is real." I was hoping it was real too, but you'll notice Dsmcg (Dave McGrath, THE person who would probably know more about a Superbike engine than even Erik Buell) was somewhat incredulous in his response. . . . though I notice that his wording was such that he didn't actually specifically deny anything . . . |

That probably wouldn't be conducive to fast pit stops, but it might be conducive to winning races... |

man you guys know more than the little data i got. guess I dont need to ever post a update on the data feeds I get. which are releasable to the public i was told on the very limited info. as this is a test bike design at this point not finale yet. no its not running at luguna!!!! as stated its together and has been tested somewhat. i didnt get a actual release date. buell will post it when they are ready. remember the 1125r as it was also not posted much.we had wind and word of it. but didnt know what fully. just as the xbrr was. well again they have good wraps on the actual details of the bike. i cant wait till its ready and details are posted. but go watch all the new releases of videos. Henry and Erik both have said they have the super bike in the eyes. with this said. you all are mocking there ability i see. they have a r&d working towards the bike release and towards the super bike. as stated in buells own release of videos. go watch them yourself. funny part is you can all say by2010. damit i hate when he was correct. >>>guess I dont ned to ever post a update on the data feeds I get. That would probably be good. It's almost always poor judgement to "leak" speculative or confidential information. |

Considering Steve Crevier has been running a Buell 1125R superbike prototype in the Canadian Superbike Series, I wonder what the AMA bike would be? http://www.cdnsuperbike.com/ |

The bike Steve is running in CDN Superbike is not a "superbike". Same with Shawn Higbee in AMA Superbike. It is the same motor as what is used in the Daytona Sportbike class. Paying close attention, you'll see that the Buell "Superbike" turns slightly better laptimes that the Daytona Sportbike (same rider same track). That is only because in the Superbike class they run slicks and in the DSB class they run DOT tires. The Buell Superbike in AMA and in CDN is still down 40-50 HP from it's classmates |

Posted on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 - 04:17 pm: So where'd you get the info? Who is bringing out the bike? wouldn't you like to know! remember i was in with ecmspy before it was put to main stream use in the usa. plus i got the beta versions to test before 80% of you guys even got the first version one. ask around you will find this as the truth also. just be happy buell is constantly moving forward. just take it as it will happen. we will all have the bike up front in time to be proud of while riding our buells. It doesnt matter where it came from. just be happy they have moved forward with the r&d dept at buell. its another fine product we get to stand beside and be a part of in due time. but I assure you rotax developers over seas will know most! funny thing huh. mike http://www.rotax.com/NR/rdonlyres/ADFC15DA-3088-4D4D-8B2E-5A067A43E622/0/START_ME_UP_2008_E.wmv (Message edited by on July 04, 2009) |

Steve's Superbike is actually one of Buell's first Superbike builds for the 1125r. It's quite different than a DSB engine, and not quite so far down on power as Doerman suggests. It's actually pretty good for a first ever attempt, and development is continuing. Also to Buell's credit, for the increase in power it has been remarkably trouble free, with no real driveline issues or bottom end troubles. It also sports a specially developed cooling system and fairing. There's a pretty good shot here: (third row, 2nd column) http://www.cdnsuperbike.com/index.php?option=com_c ontent&task=view&id=1642&Itemid=227 Pete |
