Been watching this AM to see how Shawn and Walt Sipp are doing in Superbike - he's STILL racing a stock engine... watching live timing/scoring at: http://wire.ama-cycle.org/ Click on AMA Pro Road Racing in upper left ... and going to be watching for our Antelope Valley Buell team in MotoGT1 - "The Erics" - Pinson and Haugo - Liberty Waves Racing! The 2-hour MotoGT1 team race starts at 11:00 (8:00 in CA) - conditions depending... I hope James Gang made it this time after their earlier bad luck... but they ARE on the entry list (starting grid not yet posted) MotoGT Entries (Message edited by slaughter on May 02, 2009) |

When you look at how few folks went out in Superbike, I'm betting the rain was pretty bad. Couple hours ago, Higbee on his Twitter (lower left side of his website) had said it was raining cats and dogs: http://www.higbee-racing.com/ Hasn't posted a Twitter update since then but it must be pretty ugly for Shawn to decide to miss a practice session. |

It was official - oil on the track forced cancellation of Superbike and Sportbike practices. Next session will be the 2-hour MotoGT races... not yet started (originally scheduled to start at 11 local time) |

James Gang has frequent Twitter updates on their web-site as well: http://www.jghbracing.com/ . . . seems they've been having some growing pains getting into the GT1 class, but a series like Moto-GT should reward hard work and consistency, so hopefully they can keep at it. Go James Gang/Hoban! |

Just read on the team Jordan twitter page that they are waiting for the track to be completely dry before they start the Superbike race . Since it is now sunny ,and they do not have live tv anymore they can afford to waite . |

Nice showing by Danny Eslick, Taylor Knapp, Michael Barnes, and Shawn Higbee! Looks like they need to find a way to trim another second or so off their lap times to compete for a podium spot tomorrow. (Message edited by aeholton on May 02, 2009) |

p*ussy Hacking can't win even after they make the Buells heavier. That is awesome. It's obvious that AMA should not handicap the Buells. The gap has grown to a 26 second difference. AMA needs to stop bending over for the cry babies and let the bikes run as they are. When I buy a buell I don't ask for the (Japanese package" extra 15 pounds to my Buell) so I don't embarrass my neighbor when we pulls out of the driveway on his R6. Maybe it’s the Obama factor. Do not bail out the Inline engines. I bet Cardenas must feel like crap knowing he won but by making the Buells heavier. I would have given that trophy back and say let the Buells race as they are. Peace |

Congrats to the all the Buell riders. Good race but I hope the AMA changes the rules back. Its bad enough Superbike is as boring as golf with mlading winning all the freaking time, the only reason for watching the AMA is Daytona Sportbike series. (Don't mess it up) Please Don't handicap the Buell |

2001b, did you know that the weight increase for the Buells was meaningless? From all the info put out about them they are still a few pounds over the limit with making any changes. Don't get me wrong, I race an 1125 and I'm one of their biggest fans. No put downs here. Just thought you might like to know. What I really like from today are the Superbike results. Higbee made 20th on an essentially stock motored bike. Personally I think this is where BMC should put their efforts. Let's hope for better results tomorrow. |

Dugg, I think the superbike needs some major improvements. Unfortunatelly its not like Moto GP, where you know Lorenzo, pedrosa, Stoner and Rossi could take the win anytime no matter what bike they ride. Mladin has no competition. He has the better bike and he is the most skilled rider. Its like watching Tiger Wood. There is no RACE in superbike just Mladin.Personally I think they should ax the Superbike. As far as Higbee I respect his hard work but why even bother with Superbike when he can't even get a podium in Daytona sportbike. If there is anyone that should be in Superbike should be Eslick. But again I think DSB is way more exiting and they should focus on spanding that tournament and allow Ducati to race their 1098 in it. |

2001b, you are overstating the obvious. Correct me if I'm wrong Steve, Higbee's 1125 superbike is running a stock engine with race pipe and a remap. Mods will come in time when resources are available. Why should Higbee race in superbike? It's my understanding that the pay down is pretty good in that class. Even 20th place is worth it. Besides look at the experience he's getting. Of course I'm disappointed with 20th. I want first. But then I'm also happy just to see him out there. |

Higbee IS still running engines as Dugg said - pipe and ECM/tuning. A true Superbike engine just hasn't happened yet. Look at it this way - except for minor engine work - and don't forget suspension - Higbee is racing a bike that is nearly street-legal and can run pump gas. He is getting exposure by running Superbike AND Supersport. He's still getting everything dialled in. Aint easy. Wish I had more time (new house is killing my spare time) - I'd have flown out to help Mitsu and Marianne (but they've got it wired.) |

I can't imagine races will be held this afternoon. There's a hefty weather system heading in over Barber. Maybe they can do Sea-Doo races instead! |

They should of moved the schedule up before the big storm came, but I guess the DMG thinks the autograph session is more important then the racing .In 2006 I was at Infineon when the AMA moved up the schedule to beat the rain ,and got all the racing in before the rain except the 600 Supersport race that was called after 2 laps when the rain started . |
