Competition bulletin just came through with a new minimum weight for the 1125. I believe previously, the specific limit for the 1125 was 365. The previous twins limit was 385. The new twins limit is 380, and the new Buell specific limit is 385. As Roger said, they would wait for three events and make some evaluations. I believe some here were claiming the race weighs of the 1125's at around that 380 to 390 area, so, it probably won't make any substantial difference, but I appreciate Roger, Al, and the AMA folks looking at everything and pulling the trigger. I'd really like to be racing an 1125. |

Interesting. I don't really think you can make a case that the Buell is "running away with it". There were a lot of extenuating factors at Atlanta and without a couple of bobbles by other riders, Danny may not have won at all. So..not sure how I feel about adding weight to the Buell at this point? Perhaps this was more to placate the whiners than anything else? |

Perhaps this was more to placate the whiners than anything else? Exactly. It shouldn't really make a difference. |

I think it really just recognizes the 1125 as a contender. It doesn't appear to need a ligher allowance than other twins. And, no, it won't make a substantial difference: there will still be whiners...LOL! |

The Daytona Sportbike Buells weigh more that 380. I believe I read that Eslick's 1125R weighed in at 394 post race. |

So..not sure how I feel about adding weight to the Buell at this point? They aren't adding any weight, they just upped the weight to what the Buell already weighs. It's a good thing. It acknowledges that the bike is competitive where it's at, and spares people the expense of trying to cut 20 lbs off the bike. |

John Ulrich on the Wera forums posted that the new weight limits will not change anything ,because the Buells could barely get under 390 lbs before, and his teams M4 Suzuki GSX-R600's could not get down to 360 lbs ,but some other brands of 600's might . |

Not certain where that was posted , however the AMA Competitor Bulletin #2009-08 says minimum weight went from 365LBS. to 380Lbs.....that is a 15 lb difference. 1125R weights I believe were 397lbs to 404lbs. |
