A guy wrote in and said, "I didn't think that the state of roadracing in America could get any worse, but a Buell just won." Someone didn't get enough sleep. |

Actually . . . it would do more good than most of you could possibly realize if all the folks who ENJOYED seeing Buell race would write a letter. There has been no shortage of mean letters and it's taken a toll. It would be so cool if we could get Buell owners to write, simply to say . . I enjoyed watching the Buells race. This is a critical time, it would make a difference. |

+1 on Court's statement. I sent a letter to Erik. The overall gist of the letter was "Recognizing Excellence" I just wanted to send it to let him know how proud we all are to see his name flying around the track now and winning races. That's the dream, that's where it belongs. And what a helluva streetbike he gave us to boot! Open up word, send out the letters! |

It's huge. Folks are so quick to act when they have a complaint and sometime less prone to act when they have something good to say. This is a big deal and you have no idea how far up the food chain your letter got. This is a critical time for Buell and the support of the Buell Community is more important than ever. |

+2 for court and Geforce. Has to be an actual letter or postcard. something that takes a little effort. No need to be long or even elogant, just what you think. |

A letter less than 100 words will do more than you can possibly know. It's a big deal. |

Court, I find your comments confusing. It seems everything is going Buell's way right now. The 1125R race package is affordable and competitive. It seems if Buell continues to be competitive with this package that many other privateers will switch to Buells. I know this is pissing off the establishment but how much more Harley can you get!! |

I'm confused too (easy to do). Should the letters go to the different magazines like roadracing world or to Buell? |

>>> It seems everything is going Buell's way right now. It is. Things are fabulous. Imagine for a moment that you are a passenger on Harley-Davidson Worldwide Airlines. It's late at night, you're IFR and you've just hit a wayward hot air balloon someone filled with flat black paint as a joke. Your propensity is to act in a linear fashion, employ mental momentum and do what you have always done before. Problem is this time your destination is not Harley-Davidson Field, it's Buell Aerodrome. You, devoid of any visual cues and watching your gyro tumble like a soccer ball down Lombard, have nothing to go one but what you hear from the back of the cabin. Left of the isle is a long time frequent traveler who knows no destination but Harley-Davidson Field. Across the isle is a young woman engineer with a Garmin AirNav 850 GPS with the Buell localizer locked on. Problem is the gal is a deaf mute and can't speak. The guy in 18C cries out "turn left to a heading of 320o and descend to 10,000 feet". Sure the information is wrong, but if it's all you hear, guess what decision you make. Now imagine a motorcycle race where in the paradigm had been tipped. What if angered folks, charged with "that's not the way we did it last year" venom were directing the Captain while all the cheering throngs sat before their 24" monitors, cheering in cyberspace, back in the cabin where the Pilot could not hear. Harley-Davidson is in flux. Everything is changing. The new Pilot had never heard of Buell until 10 days ago and guess who the letters come from? Call it selfish on my part but I'd love to see passionate, charged and devoted Buell owners writing letters. There is nothing more powerful that those 2 creases on a folded piece of paper. Today e-mail is largely meaningless, I get 400 a day most go to a "read when time permits" cache. The "non-Buell" owners have weighed in. I hate to see Buell owners opinions, and future perhaps, minimized by our silence. People are funny. Even though we know that nothing make a favorable response more probable than positive feedback, we nonetheless tend to squeal when we are unhappy and stand mute at all other times. Letters, just a short 2 paragraphs, could chart Buells course at this time. Call it a hunch based on 22 years of riding this plane. |

I think a lot of riders are discouraged as well because they know that like most companies their efforts in writing won't ever reach the top of the pyramid. Everyone on this board should know just how small the Buell pyramid is. Just a handful of people doing amazing things for us! Good, bad, ugly what it boils down to is the experience. Everyone knows what it is like to toil and work endlessly for something and to have many potholes and obstacles along the way. In the end the best rewards are always atta boys and a goo dole fashioned THANK YOU! Trust me, in the military you can move mountains with spoons. The best feeling ever is when someone comes up and gives you a simple pat on the back and a thanks. Lets get on board and tell Erik and all the other hard working folks at Buell what their toil and determination means to us. If I had Danny's email I'd whip him one to because he is doing great as well! Keep him in the saddle RMR! |

I can tell you first hand what it means to Erik; I saw it and felt it that evening in Joplin. I got to thank him in person. I will do it again in writing. |
