Thanks. One positive from the weekend was meeting the Latus team. Ronnie (crew chief) was a lot of help. Josh and Allan were both helpful with questions and advice. More later on this. Gotta go to work.

It was also good to briefly follow that 1098. Seemed the power was equal. I'm just not fast enough in the high speed turns. I could almost keep up in the infield, but fell back on the big sweeper. Saturday I started front row in HWT solo. By the first turn all the liter bikes had gone by. Not much you can do about that.

Then again this was my second race. I started riding sport bikes last October. I was just glad to get through the weekend safely. There were too many accidents & broken bones, and that was just in practice!

I heard some stories about the practice crashes, not good. Finishing both of your races is an accomplishment enough. You will get faster as you get more used to the bike and the close quarters of racing. One really good feeling is when you realize that you can take a corner much faster then you previously thought and do it.

you should come up phx to race. i'm the only buell out there and it would be nice to have some more, you could race supertwins and some of the unlimited classes. we got a great bunch of racers that really like to see the buells out there(except all the sv's you'll beat)-andrew

Andrew, going to PHX is a real possibility. My home track is Arroyo Seco in Deming, NM. We get a lot of riders from AZ. Sounds like another good place to ride. You might consider Arroyo too. The SV's are pretty fast here on this shorter technical track. And they're all experts. Just makes things fun.

We've got alot of very fast sv rider up here, i race against them every race weekend. there's only a couple maybe four or so that i haven't managed to beat. i have thought about going to arroyo but the money thing gets in the way. i only race if i can get buell money for being there, that way it pays for may weekend everytime out. you should comeup here for out firebird main race, the bigger track should really work for your bike. we had one 1125r at the main race last year and damn was it fast down the big straight away but he was way to slow thru the back section so i just lapped him. could be fun, i always have extra room in my pit and could fit a couple more bike in there.-andrew

Sounds good. As I demonstrated at Vegas I do pretty good in the slower infield. It's the 110 mph sweepers I have a trouble with. But then I've only been at two races. BTW I think that guy on the 1125 was from Santa Fe, NM. I've been trying to get time to get to the dealer there (it's 45 miles away) to try to meet some of them. I heard that one of the Buell racers there works in their parts department and races at Firebird. Can't have too many racing friends!

The main track is mostly slower turns and the straight away, except the turn one/two combo which you'll be running into at full speed from the long straight. the guys from the new mexico store don't usually race here, they only came out for the one race last year. i believe the one guys name was murray, he runs their riders edge course and he rides a xb12s with some firebolt bars. i dont remember who the other guy is but he rode a 1125r with a homemade belly pan.

Sounds like Arroyo. When running CW there's one straight (1800+) that leads into a series of 5 turns. The track is 1.4 miles total with 11 or 12 turns. No barriers so if you get into trouble you just ride off into the desert. I didn't realize how comfortable it is till I got to Vegas. Don't get me wrong I like Vegas a lot.

See you sometime this year.

half of the main track is walled in so if you have a thing about walls you may be a little uncomfortable.
