Silly title, I know.. But I blame my wife. As I was getting ready to ride up to Willow yesterday and she asked with a grin: "Heading to Buell church, are you?" Onto more serious matters... A new entry in the Buell ranks at Willow. Antelope Valley HD&B (Lancaster, CA) are fielding an 1125R with AMA rider Eric Pinson from Atlanta as the pilot. So now we have: Glendale HD&B: XBRR, XB12 and a slew of Blasts for the singles class Bartels HD&B: 1125R ridden by Higbee Antelope Valley HD&B 1125R ridden by Eric Pinson This is just getting more and more exiting by the month! Some results: Bartels: 1125R did not race since Higbee was otherwise occupied in daytona. Glendale: Ernie Snair, Glendale Salesman par excellance, took 2nd on the "Secret Weapon" Blast (a XB9 with a Blast motor). The XBRR and Jeff "Slipp" Dixon did not finish either race on account of mechanical problems. So the debut: Antelope Valley HD&B: Mr Pinson on the 1125R took 3rd in the BOTT heavyweight. This was his first time out and the bike is stock except for a D&D exhaust (that is insanely loud). He held the lead on the first lap but the 1098R got around him. In the second to last lap the bike started to overheat and and he had to let up a little. The 999R got around him. I thin this was a tremendous result for the first time out! Congratulations to AV HD&B and Erik Pinson. We had a good showing of BadWeB members there. I can not wait until the November race when Highbee is back, hopefully the XBRR gets sorted and the AV HD&B 1125R is improved. Wouldn't it be sweet to report: Buell 1,2,3 in BOTT heavyweigth! |

DANGIT! I have a racebike FINALLY ready and am sitting in Texas until next week and had to get the results online! Pinson's 1125R is still virtually stock except pipe. Going to be really interesting very soon!! (November is going to be fun times - even if I'm watching the REAL racers from the back of the pack) |

The Twins classes I race in are Middleweight Twins, Heavyweight Twins and Formula Twins. The 1125R cannot race in Middleweight. Middleweight is legal for 1200cc air-cooled, 2-valve only. Buell, Harley, BMW, MotoGuzzi, but 4-valve/liquid cooled are limited to 750 |

more easy respect here to find a class where XBs are competitive. here Supertwins class , unlimited displacement for air-cooled 2 valves and 750 for liquid 4 valves , is doable only if you want just to "be there" ....no chance for XBs vs 1200 Ducatis prepared by top teams and vs 1125s(exception to the rule because of the Belt). another class is the Roadster-cup a trophy where honda hornets , Moto-Morini Corsaro , Benelli 3cyl. 900 , of course Ducati Monsters and Buell Xbs races together and are divided in different sub-classes. here more chances to go to podium in the 2cyl. air-cooled sub-class ....but this trophy has less spectators and interest respect Super-twins. a dilemma where to race an xb in Italy. bye Alessio p.s. maybe there are other classes that i don't know. |
